Bettendorf, Iowa loose meat sandwich field

EPlastino has listed the expected entrants in November’s loose meat sandwich eating contest in Bettendorf, Iowa: Bob Shoudt, Sonya Thomas, Tim “Eater X” Janus, Tim “Gravy” Brown, Eric “Badlands”Booker, Sean Gordon, Pete Davekos, Crazy Legs Conti, Bryan Beard, David Solomon, Aaron Osthoff, Mark Williams & Matt Raible.

Pat Bertoletti also said he would compete in his podcast last Friday.

    So, Wrecking Ball is actually going around claiming he is the “number one eater in ifoce.” Claiming you are a top eater based on some EATFEATS poll stacked by your friends is one thing, actually eating more than a top eater is another. I wonder who else Wrecking Ball has claimed that he has suddenly achieved top eating status to? I have a feeling that the only thing Wrecking Ball is going to eat more than the top eaters after the next contest is his own words.

    actually i am not claiming that i am a top eater in ifoce. if you read what it said i over took joey IN AN ONLINE POLL as far as unregistered voters. its an online poll not a serious ranking. you might want to calm down there “earn it”, it was just a little poke at joey to have fun. anybody with eyes can see that he is the number one eater in the world (not just ifoce) and its only because i have such awesome friends and fans that i passed him in this public poll. in fact everytime i voted i had the same top 5 and i wasnt in it…so calm down there, i definatly dont think i am the number one eater in the world! signed,
    someone with enough guts to put his own name!

    @Wrecking Ball – Earn It’s comment sounds very similar to the one that was posted ’bout the poll claiming that I’ll be embarrassed the next time I eat and get beat. Duhhhhh, of COURSE I’m gonna get beat lol, we’re talkn ’bout the top eaters in the world. I did not ask for top votes either but somehow it wound up turning into a popularity contest and I went with it haha. I feel the same as you do, honored that I have awesome friends that took the time to vote even if they didn’t understand the voting process. We know we cld never beat those top guys, how cld anyone think that this is what we are disillusioned to believe? Goooooooooooo Wrecking Ball hahaha 🙂

    Correct, the unregistered EFEATS poll doesn’t mean anything besides a popularity contest amongst your friends. Also, correct Wrecking Ball didn’t claim he was the #1 eater. But Wrecking Ball sure inferred that to an audience potentially unfamiliar with how these and other unregistered EATFEATS polls work? Whether you agree or not, Wrecking Ball did dis other eaters who actually earned a top-10 status by bragging about how people in an “on-line poll” think Wrecking Bal is better than Joey. And, if Wrecking Ball didn’t think the “on line poll” might percieved by some sort as a recognition to his eating prowess, than why bring it up on another website? I understand lower rank eaters wanting to claim some of the spotlight, but going on another website and pointing out the poll as some sort of achievement over Joey is not the right way to go about it.

    Your right Larell, I know I should let people’s comments bother me on here but I don’t like people putting words in my mouth especially when they use it to insult people I look up to and respect. Joey, Pat, Eater X, Sonya, Bob, etc.. are all awesome eaters and I would love to learn a lot from them but I dont want them getting the wrong idea from people (I use that term loosely) saying that I think I am better than them. I am not better than half the people in IFOCE (ranked or not) but I like to think I can bring something else to the table. I like to think I bring passion, a sense of humor, a little fun and a hardcore challenge for sixth or seventh place at any competition I go to. Maybe in a few years I will be good enough to be in the conversation with the world’s best eaters but for right now I am happy to finally beat Joey at something, even if it was a lot of my friends voting!
