Oh, that’s perfect. For an event that promotes, strippers, prostitutes, racists, and out-of-control public drunkeness, I couldn’t think of a more fitting spokesperson for the Wing Bowl than a drug dealer. Mabey this year’s Wing Bowl champion Kobayashi can testify on El Wingador’s behalf as character witness.

Anony 2:52 — Nah, I don’t think I’m going to “shut up” because it pisses you off so much. Maybe El Wingador can now take his whole reality show project in a new direction? How about “America’s Got Blow.” No, I’ve got it! How about “So You Think You Can Bend Over?” Simmons could emcee a show where each episode one of his top convicts gets to hand out a rose (or a pack of smokes) to the “bachelor” of his choosing.

No, I think he is well done. It is always sad to see anyone who gets their life so out of control. He is not going to walk away from this. New Jersey laws and other states as well make that impossible.
“Distribution: The distribution of cocaine is incredibly serious. An outright sale is not necessary for law enforcement to charge you with distribution of cocaine. Mere transfer of the drug is sufficient for an arrest and indictment. The penalties for distribution are escalating, based on the amount of cocaine. Intent to distribute less than one-half ounce of cocaine is a third degree crime, punishable by a sentence of up to five (5) years in prison and a fine of up to $75,000. Intent to distribute cocaine less than five (5) ounces is classified as a second degree crime, with an accompanying sentence of up to ten (10) years in prison. Intent to distribute cocaine in an amount of five (5) ounces or greater is a first degree crime, punishable by a sentence of up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000.” Not a good thing for anyone associated with El Wingador.

His only way out of this is pin the tail on another donkey through a plea bargain. Love to see how the cool calm and collective Wingador handles a closed door grill session from the DEA

Whoa, compassion for a drug dealer? How about some sympathy for the kid who is now hooked on coke? Or, the destroyed family of an addict? Please spare me the bleeding heart stuff when it comes to drug dealing. It’s too easy to come on here and show some faux compassion for a drug dealer and his family as if you are better than those who call it like it is. So sure, I feel for sorry for the Simmon’s family, who wouldn’t? But the only one the Simmon’s family has to blame his Bill Simmons, and I don’t have time to provide compassion for a drug dealer and his family that profited off of crimes against others. Therefore, I prefer to direct my compassion to those affected by the poison Simmon’s was selling. TWO DAYS AGO was the anniversary of Lenny Bias’ death due to an overdose of cocaine. Think about that when it comes to showing everyone how compassionate you are?

Therefore, you don’t need my blessings to keep wishing your best for Bill Simmons and his family (even though you admittedly don’t know any of them). However, I’ll will remind you of those best wishes for Simmons and his family once the first kid in rehab, strung out prostitute, or mother, whose daughter died of a cocaine overdose, comes forward to testify against Simmons drug dealing. So, thanks for putting your heart out their for me, even though I know you were frustratedly being satirical because you can’t admit you were wrong in this instance.

You have a lynch mob mentality. Your not on crack. Rhonda was being nice. You are on heroin. So I suppose you would jail everyone who ever worked in a liquor store, because they contributed to the deaths of millions of people via alcoholism, drunk driving, etc. etc. You are a stupid ignoramus!

Neilthem, because in my opinion the evidence against Bills Simmons and the lengthy investigation findings reported against him in unbiased, non-agenda driven media are correct. I understand that you are innocent until proven guilty. However, I find the evidence to be overwhelmingly in support of Simmons being a drug dealer. That’s why I would not make a good juror in this case. You must feel the same way, or why would you think it is an insult that the current Wing Bowl Champion Kobayashi would be a character witness for the five time Wing Bowl Champ Simmons? Which brings up a good point that I alluded to earlier — Wing Bowl is Toast. An event that is more about strippers, prostitutes, porn stars, racists, sexists, out-of-control drinking, and now that the five-time champion of the event turns out to be a drug dealer may be the tipping point for the Wing Bowl when it comes to local media coverage and general community support. I think Philadelphians may finally say they’ve had enough. Besides, Wing Bowl is now just going to be an elaborate ATM for an out-of-town foreigner, Kobayashi, to pick up a paycheck at this debacle every year unless they fix it against him. Which I wouldn’t put it past this event, an event which is bad for competive eating’s overall image.

If he give up someone else he will be out real soon and the amount of blow that he had is not really that much, It looks like the were building a case against him not a random traffic stop that turned up drugs. Agreed 12:14. Dax knows little about the law. Distribution seems to be the charge and that is a very serious offense. $8,000 worth of blow is alot and consider that he had $4,000 cash on him too. Dax, 8K + 4K = 12K. Which number is bigger?

ABC and half these people are ignorant to the fact that they are idiots. If everything is based on what you see then Kobi is a big time crack head too!! He was publicly seen fraternizing at least 10 time with Wingador before this past WingBowl AND about 40 times the year before! Does that make him a drug dealer/addict? He willing took a $10,000 payout to appear then another $10,000 to participate last year. Half the articles referencing Wingador mention WingBowl and have an image of Kobi in the article- not Simmons. People will be equating Kobi’s face with the name Wingador for years to come. We all warned Kobi to stay away from WingBowl and now he’ll pay the price just by being associated with Wingador and WIP!

  56. BIGBen said

    June 21, 2012 @ 9:13 am

Simmons is a celebrity? He won 5 times in 7 yrs because he had no competition & hasn’t won again in 8 yrs. How is he like OJ? People need to research before they respond. You have no idea what your talking about. He is a washed up local “celebrity” who was built up & put on a pedistool by Angelo. After this I’m sure WIP will find a new “poster boy” to put the spotlight on. If they were smart they’ll pick someone with no criminal history or drug problem this time. Either that or they’ll start drug test for pot, cocaine, performance enhancers, throat relaxers, etc. then most people will be out.

ABC I’m not sure what’s wrong with you, but I’m sure you’ve been to a strip club at least once in your life. You should stop with the holier than thou b.s. Preaching about strippers, prostitutes, drunks, & the “evils” of WingBowl only makes you sound like an idiot. If so many people had a problem with the event it wouldn’t sell out to 25,000 every yr. We get it- you entered, you embarrassed yourself, they made fun of you, & now you hate it & everyone involved. Move on bro!

  57. are you serious said

    June 21, 2012 @ 11:06 am

Simmons is not Elvis or Frank Sinatra. If it goes to trial not one juror in that courtroom will be starstruck when they see this guy. In fact most of them dont even know who the hell he is except for the fans of this site and the idiots that work at WIP. Some of you actually live in la la land thinking the judge will be munching on some hot wings while he hands down the verdict “Ahhh El Wingador im a big fan of yours . Ok buddy im only going to slap you with $100 fine cause im a huge fan of yours but next time keep the coke in a more discreet place or you might get hit with community service. Some of you probably think this might just happen

El Wingador is certainly a local celebrity, and on a large scale. If he weren’t, this story wouldn’t be making national news.

I know enough about the law to know that Wingador’s chances of not doing time for this “charge,” which has yet to be proven in court, are pretty good.

Wingador is likely a very small fish in this. He’ll be thrown back for those higher in the coke war food chain. I strongly suspect his bond will be lowered markedly at tomorrow’s hearing.

Rhonda, I usually agree with you but think that your take on an alleged cocaine dealer is a bit skewed. His bond might be lowered, he has not chosen a private attorney but a public defender. However you spin it, he has made more than a little mistake. This is a very big time mess. It isn’t as if he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  66. DaxtheGinger said (Registered April 23, 2011)

I know a little about the law, but I know more about drugs. First he is white facing drugs charges in a state that is 13% black, its % of black inmates is 60. They don”t want a guys with his fucking face on the side of the car he is slanging grams out of over the weekend, they want the dude that is holed up in his house counting over a 500k in dope money waiting for the 20 other wingadors. If he gives up someone higher in the food chain, he will have a better shot at not facing any real prison time. If he is facing a DA or a judge that is trying to make there way higher in the system, he is screwed and might face the distribution charges, If he is a user and gets clean he can go to drug court and get off with an easy lesser charge.

Dax doesn’t matter about the black to white ratio in NJ. If he is sentenced to a federal or state prison you can throw out the uneven percentage of white black inmates. My guess is that because he has a clean record the worst case scenario is some time in a county jail. The last place you want Wingador to serve time at is East Jersey Prison formally known as Rahway State Prison which is maximum security and houses some of the NJ most toughest offenders.
