As the competitive season begins in earnest, I can’t seem to garner the same yearning for competition, and even the energy for commenting on EatFeats. My doctor has warned me about raising my blood pressure, and raising my cholesterol. My wife complains about my constant traveling to contests, and the prize money I have won barely covers my expenses. The cost of gas, and the toll that driving all night have taken on me are catching up to amount of enjoyment I have derived from our sport.
It has been fun, and it has been a pleasure to grace the stages such as Coney Island, Chattanooga, Hollywood, Las Vegas, and more. However, due to all the above factors, I finally must put down my plate, and inform everyone that I am resigning from competition in eating contests, and commenting on any eating related sites. I wish you all well, and wish you will all eat a lot, comment a lot, and will stay healthy.

The ifoce will continue to survive as long as there are suckers out there that are willing to fork over three or four hundred dollars in airfare to new orleans calif or fla to eat corn oysters and asparagus. Two of the three food categories are cheap vegetables you can buy yourself for less than a dollar a pound.Does Ryan Nerz, or the Sheas pay their own way to these events? They have special expense accounts with the ifoce . Shouldn’t the same apply to the members of the organization after all these years?

Your doing the right thing anonymous. Youll live 20 years longer than the average “eater.” Within 10 years Ill be reading the obituaries of some of the eaters eating now. Its a dead issue.

Whether the eaters in the IFOCE are suckers are not thats their right. Leave it alone and let people eat in peace.
