Broadway at the Beach foods revealed?

The foods in the four rounds of Saturday’s speed eating tournament in Myrtle Beach are listed as chicken wings, hot dogs, ice cream and shrimp by event coordinater Michael Castelalano at the end of this article about the Tucson jalapeno popper contest.

    Gentleman Joe I watched an event on TV last night on Ripleys believe it or not where you went head to head with Boyd Bulot eating hotdogs. They looked cold and wet or slimy. When was that? Good job by the way.

    It was filmed in mid June 03′. Its 1st airing was in Aug or Sept. Boyd actually ate 34 not 40. Apparently they counted wrong & never changed it. (dramatic effect)

    The dogs sucked, were cold, & went thru the system like pickles.

    Our interviews were so lame, cuz they had us doing them right next to each other.

    I was told I had to wear the “fed” shirt. Instead of my Gjoe persona. Stupidly, I asked for it at Espn zone while filming a promo cuz ESPN was going to air that years contest at the time.

    Boyd snuck by Ray Meduna in the LA qualifier a day or 2 later. In (of coarse) a controversial decision. Hey, I was there.

    Hi Gentleman Joe,

    I am a fan of competitive eating — mostly of IFOCE eaters — but I vist your site often, because I value your comments and opinion. I wish there was not so much dissension between organizations, because I think that detracts from a wonderful sport and its growth. I am really glad you visit and post on this site. I enjoy the seemingly even-keeled, objective stance you take on things. Please keep it up.

    The Ripley’s episode (#109) featuring the LeFevres at the Big Texan Steakhouse in 2000 should be rerun sometime in May. I will do a post when I know the exact date.

    Rhonda you talk about dissension amongst organizations. The IFOCE doesnt cause the dissension. They do! Do we go on radio stations newspapers or tv blasting their policies? Their organization was formed strictly as a revenge factor for some so called injustices handed down to its originator who is nothing but a clown.
