CBS Philly has a preview of the Wing Bowl focusing on Takeru Kobayashi, Bill "El Wingador" Simmons and Jon Squibb describing the three "in tremendous physical shape, like highly tuned athletes". The falsehood that Kobayashi has never competed in a wing eating contest is repeated.

If Kobayashi studies video of El Wingador from last year, he won’t do very well.

This is getting old. The script has already been written by WIP. It will be Kobi and Squibb in the first two rounds. Wingadore will come from behind for what will be a “first ever” 3 way tie. They will go head to head in the two min heat and Wingadore wil “win”. He has a deal with CBS to be the winner to pump his new “tv show”. Otherwise he isn’t even worth mentioning. Even CBS disrespects Squibb by making the focus about Kobi. This article is a replica of every article ever written about Kobi. Can’t his “manager” come up with some new responses already? Yawn. Same old, same old. They refuse to put on the show everyone really wants- Jaws vs Squibb.

Everyone knows this el wingador clown cannot eat no 200 wings if he had to save his own life. The dude has no capacity he never beat Sonya nor will he beat Squibb or Kobi. This is all the proof you need that wing bowl is fake lame and a truly disgusting event of lies and cheating. They would never go legit off weight because then they could not control the outcome. A sick day in America when they cheat Kobi from a legitimate win. el wingador what a joke of a man a true American coward if you ask me. Someone should zoom in on him and watch as he takes mouse size bites from his wings and the dumb ass retarded judges give him full credit. It happened last year and it’ll happen again.

You can thank the Sheas for now allowing the Jaws vs Squibb matchup. Jaws is welcome but not allowed to do it. boo hoo the Sheas won’t let me play.

Over the last several years Koby has lost lots of muscle mass to get down to his 130-ish weight, and I think it did help him—-look at the last Krystal performance.
I’d hardly call Koby’s Spike TV outing a wing contest a bona fide performance. He was in the throes of “jawthritis,” and didn’t even try. I can honestly say I believe I could have done better than he did in that outing, and that is not an exaggeration.
Given the auspices that CE is a “sport,” the “athletes” ARE in great shape, in that all three of those mentioned have been fine-tunig their eating skills, so they can peak at the right time.
Sure, I doubt Wingador could run a mile in under 10 minutes, and maybe it’s the same for Squibb, but running speed/endurance is not the physical asset under scrutiny.

I can’t believe they let this guy compete anymore. 50, fat, and already had a stroke. I wouldn’t call that peak physical condition people. He is given a seat after loosing last year when only the returning champion gets an automatic seat. He accuses Squibb of cheating, he said in the daily news that WIP “flip flops the rules” basically saying they decide what happens, he’s told people it’s rigged, and they still let him compete? What’s wrong with them? Some people appreciate the opportunity to go against Squibb and Kobi. They don’t make a mockery of the chance. If you loose, you loose and he’s lost a lot. Time to give it up. He’s no Bret Favre, so retire and stay retired.

He did admit in an earlier interview that he’s getting too old … that it’s a young man’s game, and that he would be happy to finish in the top three. I can respect that about him.

This is another example of iresponsible reporting. This woman, somehow, got Ed “Cookie” Jarvis mixed up with Eater X, regarding the 2007 Dave Metz study.
If she did this sort of stuff writing for “The Economist,” no wonder she’s no longer there!

Rhonda all that body building crap was a total waste of time for Kobayashi. I think it was just a Joe Piscopo fad on his part. All those supplements and working out in the gym is the last thing on his mind right now. When the smoke cleared he reverted back to his skinny self

9:06, Koby favors CE over getting “big.” Once Koby got off the “roids,” homeostasis kicked in.
I’m into natural, so I like him better as is. (He still maintains his six-pack abs, though.)
I hope he is still into bodybuilding, however, but more to stay in shape and maintain his toning.

Tired of hearing about Kobi and Bill Simmons needs to lay down and stay down. Lets see what all the other eaters and WingBowl are made of!
