Cincinnati oyster contest

With the Acme oyster contest cancelled due to Katrina, the most lucrative oyster contest held this spring will apparently be held at the Washington Platform restaurant in Cincinatti on Friday. The winner will receive $1,000 in gift certificates.

    I think I might have to take a drive…..
If the certificates are to anywhere worthwhile.

    How is the contest done?
    Most in a minute? 5 minutes? 12?

All I could garner from the link was that a lady did 47 in a minute.
    Miniscule.

I would be sure to phone the restaurant to verify all the contest details before you travel any significant distance to it.

DO NOT GO THINKING YOU’RE GOING TO WIN $1,000. The $1,000. is for their 1 millionth oyster served. 1 minute contest if they have enough people. Maybe you win dinner?! & or t-shirts?! That’s about it.
    Your welcome!

Thanks Gentleman……….. I knew I could count on you.
I saw that they say you’ll win “certificates.”
but how could I use them if i am not from Cincy?
I probably won’t make the trip…. well, not if I have to drive.
but if anyone is coming through the Burgh and wants to pick me up….??

thanks for everything in the Burgh, by the way, GJoe.
It was and honor to qualify second to you, especially since it was my first competition.
and you really kept me level before the finals.

I’ll be at the top next year.
