I have never, ever understood their reluctance to market their own products and eaters more than they do. That is why I sometimes think the IFOCE doesn’t take CE seriously themselves, yet, they should be leading the way in that initiative. Not to do so would be like Gillette leaving it up to the public to find out about their new razor on the market. If Gilette or any other company failed to get behind their products they would be out of business in short order.
Since the early days of the IFOCE’s presence on the WWW, their default is NOT to market /advertise eaters’ media appearances, etc. Perhaps they are afraid that the risk of some eaters being disenchanted with perceived inequality among all eaters (with respect to marketing them) outweighs any potential benefit the organization might receive by advertising them more.
That’s just my opinion, but I don’t know what else to think. I’m confused. Their behaviour seems “bass-ackwards!”

Rhonda spelled behavior “behaviour” in the hope that maybe we’d begin to wonder if she’s British.

Apparently (Anony 11:47) you haven’t been noticing many of my posts. Actually, I’ve been trying to fool everybody into thinking that way for a long, long time–not just recently. After all, the Brits certainly have an unwritten patent on such spellings don’t they? I’ve also known many Canadians, or American with British ties to do the same. I wonder which I am?
Let’s have a poll on that! Hell, there’s one on virtually everything else. But let’s also have a poll on who all these anonymussies might be. I believe most of them are competitive eaters with nothing better to do. That leaves the respectable eaters out, anyway.

Rhonda, perhaps the respectable eaters are such because of the anonymous alias that they use?

That could be Carey, but then again, maybe they don’t want their names associated with the “assholishness,” which is prevalent in a good percentage of annonymous comments.
