The id number for the contests list just hit 20000 (http://eatfeats.com/query.php?_table=contests&id=20000). This means there are now 20000 eating contests and challenges somewhere in the database. Thanks for everyone's contributions (Today is the 8th anniversary of the debut of the database in 2006).

    No doubt about it Eatfeats.com is the worlds best web site for food eating contest data! Nothing else comes close! Now the comment section…. well that’s pretty much a freak show most of the time.

    I use eatfeats as a way to pass the time and goof on some people when i have nothing better to do. I will admit it provides a bulletin board of info on competitive eating you wont find anywhere else and a comment board is essential for feedback. However some took advantage of the comment board to the maximum extreme by making nasty hurtful comments about someone personal life and those comments have no validity to them whatsoever. Disgusting and vile if you ask me. Basically another form of punching someone in the mouth without actually physically assaulting them. A few high profile comp eaters were also the victim of hurtful remarks like Shoudt Sonya and Sudo and i would not blame any of them for not visiting this site anymore

    No one is dysfunctional or a so called moron except those who keep posting hateful things. That includes Seiken. If someone could have figured out who is behind eatfeats, they would have already. Cmon, think about it. Plenty of IT people in competitive eating. Plenty of people who would like to know like every eating organization for starters. Maybe the comments here mean nothing to eatfeats. High profile, lots of hits, knows about how to make stats and come up high and always on searches. Has some opinions clearly, isn’t completely unbiased. The comments really cannot be moderated for many reasons. He/whoever could edit out anything which says one name, for example. But no one knows who is in charge. In the so called real world, this kind of site might not be allowed to exist without knowing who is behind it and accountable. This one isn’t illegal at all. Guessing no time to moderate all comments for starters. Some who register and comment under their name will be instantly approved. About who is behind this? Doesn’t take much to know? WRONG and big time.
