Cookie Jarvis to promote minor league AYCE

A press release announces that the Norwich (Connecticut) Defenders will sell tickets to Thursday games that will include all you can eat hamburgers/cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pretzels, and popcorn along with sodas and hot beverages. Tickets will cost $15 for adults and $12 for children. Ed “Cookie” Jarvis will appear at the opening game on April 3 to promote the tickets:

To help introduce this great money saving package, Professional Speed Eater, Ed “Cookie” Jarvis will be adding to the Opening Day festivities, showcasing his incredible eating abilities. Jarvis captured 30 eating titles from 2001-06 including Nathan’s Famous French Fry Eating Contest in 2005 where “Cookie” tackled 4.46 pounds of the famous krinkle cut fries in six minutes. One lucky fan will get to compete against Cookie in a one minute eating contest. Jarvis will be signing autographs and posing for photos throughout the game courtesy of Courant ValuMail.

One lucky fan that cant eat his way out of a paper bag gets to have his ass handed to him by Ed Jarvis. Real impressive. Signing autographs and “posing” for photos? Now Jarvis is a male model?

They picked the best Guy for the task.

Good to see you Ed out and about.

In Cookie’s prime he would dominate Menchetti. But I would not bet against Joe today one-on-one against Cookie. But that’s not a knock against Ed, as he was the best in America for a year or so, and he’s an American legend today, because of that.

If I were a young lad I would be proud to have Cookie’s autograph. Hell, even as a “youthful” gal today I wouldn’t mind it! 🙂

Until Cookie started water training he was a c-hair above me.

In any non-chilled/frozen food for a 1 minute contest it would have been a toss up then & now.

I guess Cookie’s contract has expired.

I saw the Rocket lose a game there 1-0 in a rehab start, back when it was a Yankee affiliate.

That’s a fascinating story, Joe. Please keep explaining your inadequacies.

I will bet you even money that Jarvis still checked with the sheas to get their approval on this. The contract never expires as far as they are concerned. Once you signed they got you for life.

Aside from a washed up Ed Krachie i dont remember Joe Menchetti ever beating anyone of noteworthy fame in the IFOCE. I would say he got lucky and might have finished ahead of Ed Jarvis in a matzah ball contest but never beat him for an IFOCE title and i honestly believe that Jarvis would destroy him right now.

Joe lets face it you suck. You put up big stats in a minor league organization. When you got your chance to step up to the plate for all the marbles you fell flat on your face Ex: Shirota in Japan

    “For a 1 minute contest”

    Are you kidding me???

Who but you, Joe, would ever claim bragging rights in a 1 minute contest?

    That’s retarded.

yeah but thats just against local so they don’t puke. You know the best untrained local cant eat for 3 minutes and it takes practice to do this for 8 or better. How do you think you would stand in an 8 minute contest against Cookie Today?

OJ a good poll might be who’s the fastest in the first 1 or 2 minutes. That could be almost anyone (refreshingly)

SB, I don’t know. I don’t think Cookie is training, i’m not training. It would be entertaining for sure.

Congrats to Ian in chili, that would be difficult to beat, & i’m sure painful for awhile afterwards. I hope your driving back, alone.
