The thought of Legs retiring never crossed my mind. His devotion to competitive eating is about as true blue as it gets. If anyone had any doubt about that, they don’t know him.

And he would never retire, unretire, retire, unretire, as some have done. He’s not built that way.

How about announcing an apology to big Brian Subich for his childish, unsportsmanlike behavior!

Why does he get so much press catering to him. Crazy Legs isnt retiring Crazy Legs is retiring who the hell cares. What would he do if the media decided they could care less about him? As long as Boston globe or any other news outlet is kissing up to him , he aint goin nowhere

Unless the doctor tells you to….why would anyone retire from eating contests? Who gives a damn if you don’t win?? That’s always the goal, BUT, why leave this fantastic group of nuts????….Crazy Legs deserves the press he gets. Besides him and a few others (hopefully, me in there somewhere), we need more people who are good in front of the cameras….the more pub we get, hopefully, the more contests, which hopefully, transcends into more money available, and hopefully, more chances to compete and hang put with some of the craziest, fun maniacs in America!! YOMP!

Paul this is a serious business but you seem to look at it from a standpoint of having fun like a frat party. The whole point of this is to win and win only

i like superpaul’s take on it, and i think attitudes like his and CLC are what make it all work, and what keep the folks (myself included) coming back. yes the point is to win, but if you can’t find the fun in it, you’re better off hiding in your room and anonymously criticizing people over the internet. oh wait.

Wow, jealousy is rampant on this site. I wish I were half as good in front of the camera as people like Legs, Pretty Boy, and SPB, just to name a few.

I’m happy to admit that and give credit where credit is due.

From reading the article, it doesn’t look as if Conti is announcing anything. He was being interviewed by people who interviewed him many times in the past, they were asking about his non participation this year and what it might mean.

I totally agree! It’s not about releasing your own line of hot digs or wings. It isn’t always about winning & the money & the pepto endorsements. Braging rights & prizes are great, but it’s great to get up there and put on a show & have a great time. My favorite part is usually competing for charity. Making a difference just by doing what we are good at that only a few others are…. Priceless.

I agree with you on Legs being most entertaining Gavonne, and I missed him being there too.
