Damon Wells won the taco eating contest held yesterday during the release party for the new Offspring CD at Chronic Tacos in Huntington Beach, CA by eating 30 tacos in 4 minutes. Takeru Kobayashi ate 30 tacos in one minute. Naader Reda reports that Chronic Tacos will hold a taco eating contest on August 1. update OC Weekly has a slideshow.

    To flesh out the story, the August 1 contest will be a sequel to last year’s taco eating contest held at Fred’s. Kobayashi and Furious Pete are expected to return. The rest of the roster is unclear, though Damon clearly earned a spot with his effort last night.

    It was a good showing by all who competed. Aaron Ybarra took runner by a milli second(swallow) myself, shawn kirby and Kevin ross all had 28 tacos down at time.
