Wow i won two pickle titles IFOCE & Carnegie, and never got one thin dime for my efforts. Wait a minute i take that back. George Shea did give me 25 cents for the parking meter for showing up at Nathans coney island to promote the summer qualifiers in May 2003 after my driver side window was busted by a crackhead after appearing at the united pickle factory in the south bronx . Congrag Dave. wish they would have held that contest at the Katz in NYC

Wondering the same thing. Is/was Cagle IFOCE? Was it an IFOCE contest?

    “Was it an IFOCE contest?”

    Go to the IFOCE’s site.

    Do you see it there?

    No?

Then it wasn’t an IFOCE contest. You don’t need to ask that question here.

1:11 pm, okay, but you answered the question, even if sarcastically. Everyone isn’t so interested in doing the research which this site provides. That’s why we come here.

Bottom line he won $1000 good for him. They never offered that kind of money in NYC to me or Ed Jarvis and we both deserved it. On another note who ever is voting for me in the top 25 poll thank you , Realize they are unregistered but a vote is a vote I did not vote for myself even once.

Is that 2 hours, 34 minutes and 27 seconds or 2 minutes, 34 seconds and 27 hundredths of a second. I’m assuming the latter, in which case it would be the first time I’ve seen a contest timed to the hundredths of a second.

whats up, okay gonna try and answer all, 1) thanks for everyone’s congrats it was fun but i barely one like by an 8th of a tenth of a second so big props go out to Chris Chomiak, I didn’t really get a good look at him but he can eat. 2) It was for charity, I eat in a lot of events in Houston for charity just never won one before. 3) the whole time i was there i was talking to Barry Katz (owner) about having an IFOCE event and how much publicity he would get, about how much it would cost and how much prize money to give out (I’m all for promoting any eating challenges in Houston, that way I don’t have to travel to get my ass kicked, haha i suggested a 10-12 minute pickle contest, he also is working on a huge sandwich for next month (it’s national sandwich month) it could be 9-10lbs its huge. 4) If the IFOCE has a problem with me eating in some local contests and promoting them the whole time that’s between me and them and isn’t really anyone else s business, they have always been great to me which is why wherever I’m at I promote, the more contests the better. 5) whenever i eat locally i just use my real name since it’s not a IFOCE event, SyKoBOZO is my IFOCE character and no I’m not independent, I had some major dental work done and that’s why i haven’t eaten recently, Pickles was my first eating anything since i had surgery, I would still get killed by my IFOCE brothers and sisters but at least i can smile pretty when i lose now, HAHAHA. 6) yeah Paul i won and didn’t get any pics posted, but i just dressed normal anyway – don’t worry I will dress all crazy in my next event. 7) Brain it was a tenth anniversary promotion on 10-10-10, 10 years, 10 pickles. 8) Mega yeah when they told me I won I did not know by how much exactly other than it was real close. 9) last but not least my good friend US Male, It’s about time you came up with something funny, I may be a pickle swallower but your the champion cream gulper! Have A Nice Day, 🙂

So let me get this straight… If your under contract you are allowed to eat at local events and do restaurant challenges (even though the contract specifically forbids it) as long as it’s for charity and you promote the organization while you are there… Something doesn’t seem right here.

Koby decides he doesn’t want to follow the contract and he is out.
Joe Larue decides he doesn’t want to follow the contract and he is out.

I am just trying to find equality across the board, but there doesn’t seem to be any… unless he had permission from IFOCE prior to the contest.

I’m not trying to call you out specifically Dave, I agree completely with promoting the organization and creating more contests opportunities for everyone but it seems as though some people can get away with things while others are made to follow the contract word for word…

I think you are alright Syko.Especially doing this for charity.Nobody ever went broke for giving. If everyone did this it would make the World a better place.

When I was under contract I called the Sheas to get permission to do a charity fundraiser many times. Not once was I ever denied.

I am not sure why some have been taken off the rankings but that is not any of my business .Seems like some feel its their business and its not.

Keep doing good for others Syko .I am proud of you.

This thread about bozo is taking over the entire show. He managed to walk away with a grand by beating up a bunch of local walk ons . Enough of this and lets move on. I guarantee its the last big payday this guy will ever see in the sport

Actually, there is a big difference between doing something for charity and walking away with $1000. Plus, it was Katz’s deli. Where did the $1000 come from? Did the others pay an entrance fee? And what charity received money and how much? Many eaters including Bison have done things for charity and (presumably) with permission. Sonya via IFOCE, Bison often, Erik the Red, Legs for New Orleans to benefit those who lost jobs. Other eaters donated part of their purse to various charities. There are many more examples. Sounds like a lot of rationalization to me on the part of Cagle. In this case, I think his thinking is faulty.

Thanks Bison, the rest of you people are funny, okay it was 10 bucks to enter and I did it twice almost back to back first time was my fastest which I said it would be all entry fees go to the police dept and as when I won before I always give part of whatever ii win back I do not know if the deli gave extra money to the police dept but since they are right across the street from them I’m sure they donate a lot to them., btw I also give free guitars to kids as well as help out the homeless and I gave a girl 20 bucks last night because she needed some money for gas. If you notice I don’t care if I win or lose I like to eat and have fun, I domt think I need any “free BOZO” shirts just yet, so while some of you have no life but the internet and being negative, I’m going to eat sushi and protect rockstars this weekend, ICP on Sat, Chris Isaac on Sun,, Deftones on Wed, H.A.N.D. 😉

Bozo right off the bat you take the defensive because someone questions the payout We are not allowed to express our opinion? There is a huge difference between donating $20 and a chunk of your purse to charity and do is all a favor and cut. the have. a noce day crap what you really mean is have a shitty day

Well it appears to be proven again that eaters under contract can do local events … Bryan Beard was spotted last night participating in a rib competition called Battle to the Bone in Boulder, Co. I’m curious if he had permission from the Feds prior to the contest since it wasn’t for charity. If they don’t get some control, everyone will just start doing what they want, when they want and pocketing all the money while the Feds get none.

  35. anionymous said

    October 13, 2010 @ 9:51 am

Here is the deal. There is no permission. Sometimes an eater will email the Sheas asking for permission and when they dont get a response which normally is the case , they assume its ok to do the unsanctioned contest. Sometimes the eater in question might get an email informing him or her of a suspension or possible permanent ban from the organization. If the eater participates in an unsanctioned event without notifying the sheas , they might get away with it unless some snitch is aware that person competed in the event and notifies the sheas.
