2. Russ Keeler 19.5
3. Pete Davekos 16.5

update #2 jcrue11 of bodybuilding.com claims he was the actual runner-up and that Russ Keeler was disqualified.

update #3 Journal Inquirer has the longer article out now. Mike Springer was the fourth place finisher.

    Rios won, Keeler got second with 19, and Pretty Boy got third with 16.

    Sounds like a great contest! El Naturaal edging out the pack.What can you expect from a guy who was born a pauper to a pawn, on Christmas day, when the NY Times said “God is DEAD”! Keeler I’m damn proud of you buddy! Did u wear the ti-di pants and bandana? Because thats signiture now. Tree Hugger! Pretty boy Pete nice work! I’d trade a case of itchy scrod for the dog burps anyday…because I don’t like itchy scrod…even if it has been d-boned.

    How can someone have 22.75, when they were only given 2 additional plates from the Nathan’s guys. Every eaters gets two plates of 5, then 1 plate of 5 after that. The Nathan’s guy only came back twice to put a plate. That’s 4 plates ( hot dogs). He also came back to Davekos twice and and Keeler twice. Is it possible that there were two plates stuck togther.

    I guess bullshit rules once again. Maybe he did not eat 22.75 . I can just imagine how many mistakes have taken place in qualifiers since 2002

    ThePlateCounter – they have to have more than just counting plates to figure out how many hot dogs are eaten. And someone also should have a video of the contest, so you should also be able to check that.

    There should be videos of all of the contest out there. (Well, ok, so I’m a geek that likes that kind of stuff, but come on.) That should get rid of at least some of the problems with counts and who did what wrong.

    Everyone is always looking to dog on Rios. First this bullshit accusation that he didnt eat 27 dogs last year . Stop the jealous hate and start being nice to one another. The ones that hate have very few friends to their name.

    North Pole, they have relied on plate counting in the past, and it led to a lot of controversy.

    Platecounter, where’s the video? You had the idea to pay attention to how many plates they brought out the whole time, but didn’t have the forethought to video tape it? Either you were eating and weren’t paying close enough attention or are just starting sh*t.

    Here’s the way it went down. I have it on video, The Nathan’s guys only put two additional plates in front of Arturo, Pete, and myself. I also had 18.5 HDBs, but reversed before the totals were announced. So even with one less plate Arturo would have had 18, that beats everyone else. If I had not reversed, I would have made a big deal of it. Arturo wins no doubt. It was a great contest,

    Congrag to Arturo for a super job. I am glad he qualified early instead of late . Good job by Russ and Pretty boy . Pat B awesome with the Gyro’s . On a side note as eatfeats approaches it’s 3rd birthday on the net , i took some time to view the eatfeats archives from 2005 & early 2006 and i noticed that the comments from eaters and fans were more on the tell it like it is hold nothing back point of view. Some of the comments even though vicious at times, were downright hilarious when you look back. IFOCE members felt comfortable leaving their real name when posting but that ceased because the hate was getting out of hand. Sonya , Joe Larue Joey Chestnut Charles Hardy Humble Bob and others were regulars on this site. Most of them stopped posting and decided to read instead of comment.. Even Rhonda Evans went by the name Rhonda insteaf of Rhonda Evans and did not have much to say . Maybe it’s for the best that the names mentioned refrain from posting because some of these anonymous assholes might have scared them away for good . Very sad.
