OJ , I have a few things to add in regard to your end of decade polls. You seem to take great pride in omitting my name in several of those polls just to see if you can get a rise out of me. I was the main attraction of that contest and not Barna. At the time Reeves was probably my only real threat. The Sheas knew exactly what they were doing portraying me as the headliner because 7 months prior in 2003 , i practically blew away the field in Pasta on Columbus day until Ed Jarvis caught me with a few minutes left. Who was it that hyped the May 2004 Carnegie Deli rematch in pickles with Ed Jarvis? Me Me and only Me. . Ed Jarvis and i were given full jurisdiction as to who was allowed and disallowed in the contest. The biggest mistake was allowing two troublemakers to compete that had no business being there (sure everyone knows who i am referring to) which virtually ruined what would have been the greatest rematch in CE history.

Too much time worrying about eatfeats. Strange. Why should Brian self-promote here instead of on his own site? Why is this site required to post articles about him? I do not understand. People do not pay eatfeats or Brian to be mentioned. This world of blogs is weird.

Brian did start this type of forum and deserves some credit .Eatfeats does maintain up to the Minute News and should also igive credit where credit is due.

I am posting with some hesitation, but since I shall be out of the country soon, I am hoping that things will bloom better in Spring on eatfeats and in the world.
Ray, I like your last sentence. As for the rest, BB, the answer to your dilemma is rather simple from my perspective. If you want to be respected for what you have done in the past and have reciprocity for what you are doing now, you need to make some changes, and I am not speaking of visual ones.
Ray, at present, BB still has polls on his site which not only slam eatfeats calling it something highly distasteful, but he also continues to show complete disrespect, in my opinion, for whoever is doing this website. So Brian, you have not been following to the letter some of your New Year’s resolutions.
If you are going to use eatfeats as a forum and achieve what you hope, please think about showing some respect on your website and in your comments for eatfeats and on eatfeats. All eatfeats has done, in my opinion, is to take the high road and ignore you. Please think about what I have written. Your last resolution refers to me. Please show the good stuff of which you are more than capable.
I should add that no one has a copyright on what they began as an idea. Prescription drugs become generic drugs, a poor analogy. What is most important is what people are doing now, still showing respect to the past, people and achievements. One has to adjust to change and try to work with new changes and new people. Brian, you have no control over other people’s behavior, but you have complete control over what you do. You and I both acknowledge that I have supported you in the past. I would like to be able to support you in the now and the future.

You seem to specialize in long emails that focus on the meaning of life but when you have fully determined in your mind that someone is the bad guy , there is no way to change your perspective. On more than one occasion you referred to Menchetti as a “bully” for candid remarks about Sonya. To be quite honest some of the past remarks on this site about Sonya were much worse. The “anorexic” remark from Speedeat was about as far as it goes. . If harmless remarks of that nature constitute “bully” then someone needs to get their priorities straight. The “eatfeces” remarks on my end are probably in bad taste but no better than the negative comments about me that appeared frequently from anonymous posters on this website. I appreciate your motherly advice but at the same time find it odd that you spend most of your valuable time on this website. It seems that anytime there is a mention of negativity on my end or a poster that appears to mimick my text, your name pops up on the comment page defending the other party while inadvertantly accusing me of being that very person. To be quite honest the anonymous Nov 29th 7:32am comment from the abuse room sounds very very familiar.. I am not naming names but it sounds very very familiar. Sometimes you dont need to use vulgarity to get your point across but a comment of that magnitude was clearly designed to destroy my integrity as a reporter and convince others to refrain from visiting my website. It was not only false but heartless and cold. I pity that individual and hope that god takes care of that person one of these days. OJ Rifkin failed to acknowledge my editorial long before i started the eatfeces thing. I apologized on several occasions via email and those apologies were ignored. Your attempt to patronize me or kill me with kindness in your closing remarks doesnt impress me one ioda. Not as dumb as i look . I know where you are coming from and as of now i am not one of your favorite people. You refuse to see my point of view and the less people that come to my defense gives your case against me more and more strength. Ray had the balls to stand up for me unlike others who prefer to sit back and enjoy every minute of this. However if the shoe was on the other foot and they were scapegoated on this site, you would see how fast their little ass would respond back in defense. Unfortunatly many ill informed idiots think that this site is a gold mine and it is not. More like a bulletin board with google updates . When OJ Rifkin whoever the hell he or she may be, decides to bury the hatchet , then and only then will i cease to blast this joker. On another note you seem to come to the defense of Sonya whenever anyone appears to slight her in the least. Why dont you come to my defense on the countless number of occasions when my integrity is buried to the hilt on this site? Your claim that she is very fragile and cannot defend herself is hogwash. You are fixated with Sonya and worship her like people did with Elvis and the Beatles. God forbid if she ever emailed you asking in a polite way to stay out of her affairs, i cannot even fathom what thoughts would go through your mind. On a closing note if my mother god rest her soul decided to spend most of her afternoons or evenings commenting on a blog (especially this one) i would think in all honesty that something was not right and i would end up sitting down with her and having a long talk. I agree with everything Rona said at 9:05, and she’s being very, very diplomatic about it. She always takes the high road. Anyone who chooses to open his or her eyes can see that.
Brian, you get what you give.
This is a wild shot in the dark, I know, but do you think you might have created an ever-so-tiny riff by referring to this site as “eat feces,” not just on this site, but on your own too? And yet, OJ has been classy enough to still post your remarks.
This is another wild thought, and I know it’s a monumental longshot, God forbid, but do you think that if you didn’t come across like God’s gift to competitive eating people might better embrace your work?
I know I’m the weirdest of the weird, but I have always believed that good, well-intended, diligent work was not only its own reward, but also speaks for itself. Demanding recognition and respect, as you often do Brian, always breeds contempt and resentment, which, given your highly combustible personality and sensitive nature, you always lash out at others when it was you who more times than not created that situation that you complain about, yet, ironically, choose to wallow in.
Why set yourself up for disappointment and negativity?
BB, inside I think you’re a great person with a lot to offer. I hope you learn to hone your interpersonal skills, and alter your perception of others, so your talent and good nature can be more fully realized.
Well, one of my resolutions was to stop commenting on eatfeats, and I intent to stick to it — this was an exception. I’ll still visit, and I wish all of you the very, very best!

I only created the riff after my personal apologies were dissed like a dog . If you have some free time scroll through the comment archives of this site you will notice i rarely ever patted myself on the back or came across with an inflated ego until OJ Rifkin decided i or my site wasn’t worth a few taps on his keypad. It was only after those failed attempts at reconciliation that i said what the hell, I think iv’e done one hell of a job entertaining the fans of CE and yes why shouldnt i receive some recognition for it. Anytime somebody asks for a little love in return (ex Don Lerman) right off the bat everyone jumps down your throat labeling you a baby, inflated ego, selfish . Gimme a break for gods sake. You know what, i could disappear altogether and maybe nobody would give a rats ass but somewhere down the line maybe tomorrow , next month or maybe next year someone might remark “Ya know it’s just not the same without Brian’s site” I miss it. Think about that one

Brian, your words and actions speak for themselves no matter how much you protest and say it isn’t your fault. Honestly, with every post you continue to create more of the same. Perhaps once people would have been disappointed if you walked away. In my opinion, you have created a situation where that is no longer necessarily the case.
Yes, you surely still have some followers, but many have been slammed on your site, and often you have said, oh I was just joking. You no longer have access to the kind of information you once had from eaters, and that has nothing to do with anything eatfeats created.
That you cannot find a respectful way to co-exist is puzzling. You too have “copied” some things from eatfeats. These things can be done as peers, not enemies. It is not eatfeats which has created your problem but you yourself. What if you were not allowed to post on this site? Eatfeats could do that easily.
Please, think before you write, or write whatever you wish, but do not ask for reciprocity. Look at your website and the comments. How can you not understand why eatfeats doesn’t want to lead its fans to your website. Slam me all you wish, Crazy Legs Mom, CLM, you have free rein on your own website.
The first sign of being mature is taking responsibility for one’s actions and treating people with respect. In the case of these “blogs”, if you feel you are not, all of the entitlement posts are not going to change anything. The one thing everyone should not do is to make false statements and allow them to be posted, and that line is a difficult one to hold in this day and age. We all make judgments with everything we write.
I was going to write this to you personally as a kindness, but I am preparing for an exhibition in Japan and have, on short notice, been able to arrange to go there and will be gone for seven weeks, not back until what I hope will be Spring. Thus, this is my last comment about all of this no matter how you or anyone responds. Always the optimist, I will hope for the best and that you will consider that everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion and that things will change for the better for you.

Rona, i have no intention of slamming the mom of a fellow eater on my site or for that matter anywhere. .God forbid if anyone just so happened to google the name Rona Conti and it appeared on that crazy Brian Seiken’s website your business associates , family and friends would gasp in horror. Lets hope for your sake this page doesnt come up in google because i accidently blurted out your name. I just wanted to get my point across. I would want CL to show the same respect for my mom if she were still alive which im certain he would. I would not only appear to look like a bully , but a coward if i was to take pot shots at the mother of an IFOCE member that is highly respected n the world of CE. You are an extremely intelligent 63yr old female but it puzzles me as to why you take such an extreme interest in eatfeats.com My beef is with this individual and it does not concern you. . Unless you are the co creator of this site there is no reason for you play the martyr role and defend this individual. Not one and i repeat not one IFOCE member has come to his defense. The defense team consists of a slew of anonymous posters (actually 2or 3 taking the role of 40) that apparantly do not have the gutts to reveal their true identity . It would surely make sense that OJ Rifkin is one of those anonymous posters considering that the entire concept is anonymous to begin with. The only time you might goat someone to come out of the closet and reveal a true identity is when their wives and children are brought into the picture like the guy who took shots at Rick the Manager. I dont think i could ever stoop that low just so i could bring one of these cowardly anonymous idiots to justice. The top notch eaters in the IFOCE have confided in me that they visit the site but aside from the bottom of the barrel eaters such as myself , they would not lower themselves to posting or responding back to these morons. . Once in a blue moon Steakbellie, Superpaul; Kong and US male will make a cameo but thats about where it ends. . Sonya, Joey, Pat, Bob just to name a few have better things to do. By the way enjoy your trip to Japan. I thought at one point i was invited but since my stock dropped drastically over the past year or so i wont even go there. Still waiting on the lunch date you promised. It’s going on 3yrs but i have all the time in the world
