The BaconSalt twitter reports that Erik "The Red" Denmark ate 130 strips of bacon at his record attempt at the Bacathlon last night.

    I ended up eating 2 lbs. 8 oz. The whole event was a blast. I also won the bacathlon events which were prior to the eating exhibition – 4 “athletic” events involving alcohol and bacon (bacon/beer pong, raw bacon toss, bacon relay, and bacon-tricycle race) matching 8 Seattle semi-celebrities dressed in bacon suits against each other-pretty ridiculous and awesome. I won every event, which meant I drank 2 shots and 4 beers along the way prior to the bacon eating. The bacon eating was just icing on the cake really at that point. The Baconsalt guys are very cool and are really interested in hosting an event in Seattle next summer, hopefully it will happen. All of the proceeds from last night are going to Children’s hospital – we had a great turn out and raised around $5,000 (maybe more).

    The weight of the Bacon was 6.75 Lbs before cooked.

    Considring the Bacon was fryed several hours in advance Erik powerd thru like a lion ripping meat from it’s prey.

    I tried all the really cool Bacon products,Baconaise, Chapstick,Sunflower Seeds.Popcorn,Salt,Envelopes that all taste like Bacon.

    Would oj be interested in compiling a listing of events done for charity beginning with Bison? People could add to it. Bison, Denmark several, Crazy Legs for New Orleans after Katrina. I know that there are others. I think the ifoce/Mike deVito organized Food Bank “days” where eaters worked in some way for same. People could write in and let oj know via e-mail if they didn’t want to be seeming to tout their own horn. That would be in the true spirit of being charitable, being humble and not asking for recognition, just like oj.

    Why dont you people stop kissing his fuckin ass and think about all the charitable and good joy that Beautifulbrian has brought to the world and competitive eating through his relentless efforts entertaining the world with his music , internet shows and videos. That you seem to forget . With the exception of a brief period where he tried to sell his tv show for a mere $3 he never asked for anything. He even gave away his Xmas CD’s to the public and paid for the shipping. Unlike other competitive eaters that have attempted to sell $1 sportjackets and teashirts on their website for ten to fifteen times more than they paid for it, Brian has clearly given away more than he has ever profited from. Roll that around your mouth YOU PRO OJ ANTI BB ACTIVISTS. It sickens me just to read that garbage
