Fat Sal's Deli in Los Angeles announced that the "Fat Molly" sandwich designed by Molly Schuyler to reward her for finishing the restaurant's sandwich challenge will not be added to the permanent menu. To add insult to injury, the "Fat Molly" was changed from Molly Schuyler's original specifications.

These people are are joke. My original sandwich had brisket, pulled pork, bacon, jalapeño poppers, white cheese sauce and spicy BBQ. (Maybe coleslaw too.., can’t remember two years ago)
They gave me a Cuban sandwich saying it was close. Ham, roasted pork, mustard, pickles…
They advertised it once.
Never made the menu

Obviously BS has to stand for Bob Shoudt or Brian Subich. Those are the only men with the initials BS that can claim ledgers status. Other BS is just a pretender.

Bull Shit! No single person, past or present, has done more for competitive eating than Beautiful Brian Seiken. It’s a damn shame so many people fail to see that!

What does “BB” stand for? It must be Bryan Beard or Badlands Booker??

I guess there should be a “popularity tag” next to the challenge description on the menu. SMH

Any event that BB shows up for whether he competes or not is like parting of the red sea . All eyes are on him in the crowd and not the eaters on stage. Expect BB to make a guest appearance at a Nathans qualifier near you very soon

Brian Seiken is to competitive eating as Chris Moneymaker was to poker and they both made their mark around the same year

Any fake legend who can eat only 11 hotdogs is a laughing stock.

Has Seiken actually won any cash for eating? Ever? Like legit money for actually doing well in a contest. Database suggests that he never did

The biggest insult coining “BB” was during the O&A bashing of competitive eating during the egg nog drinking contest when Philibn was thrown out of the organization . Anthony read a press clip from Seiken website in 2006 stating “Philbin was supposed to be a guest on BB corner Christmas special” The clueless idiot thought BB stood for Badlands Booker xmas special and not Beautiful Brian. What an idiot

That was a funny bit from O&A. Jim Norton said George Shea is a parody of a jerk off. Go back and have a listen, you’ll laugh your ass off.

Re the food challenge at Fat Sal’s, I respectfully think there are more important things in life than to worry about that whether an item remains on the menu. Stuff happens. It’s their business. Challenges go defunct all the time. Wall of Fames get put in storage. People deemed professional for whatever and any reason are denied entry into a challenge willy nilly. Lifetime prizes are not honored. Owners can be greedy.
Worry about paying your mortgage or keeping your job or the health of your family. Be grateful many of you are not disabled or in wheelchairs or blind or are dying of a disease. In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter your item was not on the menu or changed from how you originally designed it? I realize this is a competitive eating blog, but it’s just not worth it putting this much energy into it or even getting upset. Stress affects your health–it causes heart attacks, strokes, and other diseases indirectly. Learn to let go and not get all upset about every little thing. Save your energy and stress for the bigger things in life.
Seiken was always screwed said

Seiken was screwed by the IFOCE whether he came in the money or not . He had 4 3rd place finishes in 2004 one in 2003 and a 1st place finish in pickles in 2004 but never received a dime for his efforts
3rd in pasta contest NYC 2003
3rd cheesecake Brooklyn 2003
3rd corned beef Morans restaurant 2004
3rd watermelon Dayton Ohio 2004
3rd shoe fly pie PA
For Seiken 1st place finish in IFOCE title rally in Brooklyn he received a $5 trophy with no money Cheesecake , corned beef and pasta contest did not pay prize money. For finishing 3rd behind Janus and Subich in shoe fly pie he recieved a road map of PA while Janus and Subich received $1000 & $600 respectively Cheap Lefevre won $1000 in melon contest but refused to share his winning with the 2nd and 3rd place finishers which included his wife.

546 i doubt her signature sandwich being dropped is causing her stress but i can understand why she might be upset. Its the principle of the action more than anything Somewhat comparable when some of the old school eaters images were removed from the Nathans wall of fame mural. Don Lerman and Krazy Kevin were so devastated that both of them have little if anything to do with MLE Nathans or the Shea brothers. It really hurt Kevin because he once mentioned that he wanted his little daughter to marvel and be proud of her daddy’s image for all the world to see Brings a tear or two to my eye

This is 5:46. Thanks 8:23. I miss those pics on the mural. There needs to be a CE Hall of Fame, similar to the Pro Football HOF in Canton.

I think these should be the member of the initial class elected to the competitive eating HOF (modeling it after the Pro Football HOF):
Eaters (limit 5 – eligible 5 years after their retirement):
“Krazy” Kevin Lipsitz
Don Lerman
Ed Krache
“Hungry” Charles Hardy
Allen “Shredder” Goldstein
Veterans Committee (limit 2 – retired more than 25 years ago):
Frank Dellarosa
Thomas Stash
Contributors (limit 1 – can be nominated anytime):
George Shea

In addition, the CE HOF would do a special commemoration for eaters who have died or passed, no matter what the cause, especially well known eaters:
Patrick Vandam
Scott Bickel
Stephanie “Xanadu” Torres

Saying that “there are more important things in life than to worry about” is rather general statement in this context. We’re all on a forum/website dedicated to competitive eating (and trolling for 90% of the forum posts, to be quite honest). This is “arguably” one of the hardest challenges on the west coast, the owners boast and brag about it all the time. The sandwich AND it’s “reward’ of being able to name it after yourself has even been on Jay Leno, and even online shows like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aupYwvPFOqU
I don’t care if it’s “their business”, I’ve been in the business world enough to know that it’s NOT ethical to treat someone as they treated Molly. It’s not a god damn popularity contest, it’s a promise. You eat the sandwich (as EXTREMELY difficult as it is/was), you get it for free and you get to CREATE and NAME a sandwich after yourself. It says it on the menu, it’s in fine print. Honor it and move on. No matter if it’s one that has you lose money or not (that is also something that happens in “business” all the time, but you know what? That’s apart of “business”).
These guys are total assholes, and I won’t ever be recommending anyone go there.

If you want to debate Erik over what is “ethical”, then I’d argue that leaving a sh*t ton of debris knowing you’ll be deducted less than you deserve, is far more unethical than this sandwich naming situation. Why is it that you only compete in contests with debris foods like poutine and tacos? I’d guarantee that if you compete in a fair contest that your results will be far less stellar than we’ve seen. I’m not talking about some 30 minute contest like the big eaters where you get to eat slowly. I know there are some other major contests in California, but the question is, do you dare compete when the playing field is fair for everyone?
