As usual, here we go with the slinging, forgetting that things are also subjective. Nevertheless, OJ, in only his inimitable style, could do for us a chart showing the differences/changes for those who care. It would be really nice to see some substantive remarks here instead of hate, disagree if you wish but the first comment is just a familiar whine.

Maria Edible seems is a few spots too low at #29, and Matt Stonie is the best “#7-ranked” (huh?) eater in the history of the IFOCE.

Congrats to all the newly ranked eaters; I remember that feeling of excitement quite well! And to those who moved up, kudos; I also remember that feeling, too! For those who got moved lower, lol I now know THAT feeling as well….that just gives us more incentive to kick some CE butt moving forward, right? 🙂 Welcome newbies 🙂

How long before Seiken closes down his website again in retaliation for his #43 ranking?

MLE can’t please everybody, so they have to please themselves. Overall I think the IFOCE did an excellent job. They always do, for the most part, and if people want to anticipate eater finishes in major events, an excellent strategy is to just use the rankings. They’re accurate much more than not.
Like Larell alludes to, if an eater thinks he’s ranked too low, then what better incentive is there to kick butt and prove MLE wrong in their perception.
Of course, there are those who just like to whine, and following the aforementioned strategy would nix that incentive.

MLE really does half ass their rankings sometimes… Juan Rod #26 has competed in 2 MLE events, both Nathan qualifiers, 22HDB’s in Vegas and 19.5 in Thackerville… While Marcos Owens also has only 2 MLE events (both Nathan’s qualifiers) and does 25HDB’s each time and is ranked #28?
I have nothing against Juan, I’m just looking at the numbers and it makes me wonder.
Still congrats to all that are ranked for the first time and A-train for moving into the top 10… I also think Matt should be ranked 5th over BOB. Maybe BOB’s only kept his spot because of seniority?

Pondering people have the right to complain and bitch the same way you have the right to voice your opinion on how we should not forget how things are subjective and that slingers have no business expressing their point of view. Two way street deal with it !

Rankings should be based upon performance at the table and not reflected upon favoritism . There are several case in points if you look through the top 50. I wont mention names but there is one in particular who really doesn’t have to compete for the next couple of years and his number will remain retired at that spot regardless.. Even though Conti cheated Bob & Sonya out of a corn title and A – train & Gravy out of a win at Hooters he will always be a fixture in the organization. Remember he an ambassador to the sport. Even in defeat he is a hero. Last year he stormed out of the NC qualifier burying his face under the quilt covers in his bedroom refusing to talk to anyone because the poor baby missed out on 10th consecutive trip to Coney. How dare they? Mind you half of those were tainted to begin with. By not showing at Coney last year to support his mates his stock went up even further. Let Seiken pull a move like that and see how far it gets him? . To add insult to injury the revised wall of shame features his image overshadowing the real eaters like Sonya Pat & Joey. It gets better. A spot in CP Biggest eater competition like there wasnt a ton of eaters that deserved it more than him. Oh and of course you will say that without question it was Seiken that left this comment.

If you are in the top 30 you have no justification to bitch about anything. Especially the comment that refers to Juan Rod and #26 ranking. My heart bleeds for you dude. Be grateful you werent ranked in the mid 40s when your stats prove you should be ranked higher.

4:33 just waiting to say that you are not Seiken, go right ahead, your transparency is unbelievable. Okay, maybe you just wrote it but had one of your two buddies post it. You hate CLC period, you have made that clear. So yes Seiken, everything you wrote and keep writing page after page just keeps making you a broken record. You have not qualified for Coney, not once, and what have you given to the sport? A really poor reputation.

Congrats to everyone that made it on moved up or is still in the rankings. I’ve only done a total of 4 MLE competitions my 1st 1 last year in September I’m not sure if that 1 counted or not. I cant say that I’m super souped with where I’m at but I don’t feel any need to bitch or complain about it. I just know that if i want to move up I have to make sure I have good showings in future contest it is what it is I’m not discouraged I’m motivated to move up & prove that I’m better than the # I was ranked.

In my opinion ranks are fairly arbitrary. Sure, it might feel good to be ranked higher, or suck to be lowered, but in the end what matters are contest results. Many people might disagree with me but think about it. Who cares if your ranked high and you lose. People like winners, not impressive labels.

Well 433, for Conti to have “cheated” Sonya, she sure has a good attitude about it. If Bob had a problem with it why didn’t he say so? What proof is there that rankings are based on favoritism? “Let Seiken pull a move like that and see how far it gets him?” Seiken consistently makes an idiot out of himself, and, yes, we see where it got him. What exactly would make Seiken happy, 433? This finger pointing at CLC needs to stop. No wonder CLC doesn’t visit this site or seiken.com anymore. Nothing good comes from seiken.com and mostly put down trash talk comes from this board.

To those of you that insist on taking the high road believing that if you put up sound numbers you will be rewarded, it aint happening. Head to head wont make the bread. Beating up on someone within the contest means nothing. Its titles that get you the rank and the only legit argument you have to plead your case. .There are exceptions and those apply to the “chosen” ones. I think we know who they are

537 to clear the record since your hate for Seiken is beyond belief, at the corn contest in WPB i overheard him chatting with Conti for an extended period of time prior to the contest. They were talking about anything but eating until out the blue he said “Oh umm by the way nothing personal but i do not visit your site anymore nor do i visit eatfeats. Too much negativity” He respected that and moved on.Couldnt figure out why.for he had nothing but nice things to say about him of late . He even promoted Colemans and the show for BB corner in 07 . He felt the need to escalate this even further at Cheesesteak by drawing more attention to himself by announcing his abstinance from two hater sites.

It only took them six months into the new year to update the rankings. Glad to see those crazy MLE guys haven’t changed a bit in my time away from following the sport. I guess that means we’ll see the post-Nathan’s update some time in December. It’ll be like a Christmas gift!! Woo hoo!!!!

No, it was good cake, I especially crave sweets after salty foods and it genuinely hit the spot. I have no beef with Brian, I stay away from him he stays away from me, he acknowledge each other with civil pleasantries if we happen to cross paths at a contest and that is all. We seem to have conflicting personalities and rub one another the wrong way so this way works best for both parties.

There is no thought process or compassion with the rankings which leaves some of the newbies with ???? on their minds. If Mike email some of the eaters that were dropped especially the mid to low ranked eaters with something like this. “Hey guy sorry i had to drop you but we needed to make room for some new faces. Nothing personal against you or your ability as an eater ” Thats all they need to do and for the most part all is forgiven. Instead they leave you with thoughts of negativity and what your self worth is to the organization Of course there is going to be one that just has to stick their two cents in and disagree claiming “Well Mike has no time to email each and every eater that was dropped with a sorry ass excuse like the one you just proposed” To you it might seem sorry ass but it might mean a hell of alot to others self esteem. Think about it.

There is no “right way to do it.” Feel lucky they’re ranking the top 50. It could be just the top twenty, which would save MLE lots of time and trouble.
If the IFOCE started explaining themselves to each individual it would never end. That would start a bad precedent, and each time they didn’t communicate, or took too long to communicate, each rankings move they made they would never hear the end of it.
Even the people who didn’t move down would want to know why they were not higher. It would never end.

“Right way,” I’m not trying to be funny, but don’t take this ranking thing too seriously. This whole CE thing is just a silly way to pass some time, have some fun, and maybe make a few bucks if you’re lucky. Your self-worth should never even enter the equation. Most of the top eaters really don’t care much about the number attached to them because that’s just what it is, a number. Your ranking won’t get you anything. If you’re not in the top 10 or maybe 20, it’s almost like pulling names out of a hat. Honestly, pick a number over 30 and see if you’ve even heard of most of these guys. Dropping down a couple of spaces is really small stuff at the end of the day.
