The Spike TV coverage sucked!!!! I am tired of hearing about Kobayashi’s jaw, they didn’t even talk with Pat and Joey after the competition. The bulk of the interviews before the turkey competition dealt with Kobayashi and his jaw. Joey and Pat are the faces of competitive eating now Kobayahsi is not so stop giving him air time. His performance in the Turkey Bowl was embarassing, the only bigger embarassment was that he beat someone.

So what’s the deal with Janus and Brown? Is there really some hate there or did they just play that up for the cameras?

Isnt funny that all the talk of Joeys reversal at the 4 minute mark is erased Spike showed closeups of him thowingup in his hands twice and yet they leave it go.This was on eatfeats yesterday and now nowhere to be found.Do you think maybe eatfeats is controlled somehow by ifoce..

I find it hard to believe that Allen Goldstein only ate 1.91 lbs and got beaten by Kobayashi. I think a mistake had to be made, since Goldstein’s bird was pretty much stripped to the bone. Unless he left the meat piled on his plate, where did it go? Plus, how did Koby eat almost 2 1/2 lbs, little piece by little piece? Good work by all the competitors. You guys (and girl) put on a good show.

Why doesnt anyone question the resul6ts with Joey throwing up twice during the contest. The results are being fixed by ……Are the eaters happy with the blind eyes when it comes to the king..

No competitive eater should be stopping during a contest, The Mad Greek made me mad when he basically quit during cranberries….and Allen got beat by someone who took 3 minutes off!! In case nobody notices, every time Allen is in a final – he stinks up the joint! Check the past results – he’s good for some quotes, not gulps

If Joey had a reversal he should have been DQed. I think Spike TV has been thrown for a loop on their shows with Pat winning all of them so far. It seems like they never expected him to be a serious threat.

Allen finished dead last in Krystals and dead last in turkey which proves stop them stoppers point .But anyone that can put away 42 krystals and 26 hot dogs is a damn good eater . His problem is that he has yet to beat anyone in the top ten or top fifteen for that matter

I’d be curious to know where these results came from OJ? I didn’t see the full results on the tv broadcast, but I may have missed it.

As far as the reversal talk being erased from Eatfeats, the only mentioning of the reversal happened on the thread about Tim Janus eating a Thanksgiving meal.

I can’t see how there is a 5 pound difference between Allen’s bird and Pats. Allen was eating from the stripped bird at the end, so there was no way he had a pile of meat on the plate. How could there be 5 pounds of meat on that bird? Was his total lowered so that Kobay wouldn’t be last?
The original show was taped, so why was the re-broadcast of the ‘reversal’ different? Wouldn’t they edit it down the first time?

As a competative eater I think its deplorable that the federation allows Joey to throw up twice during the turkey contest without saying anything.Spike TV had closeups of him doing this and did nothing. Why bother trainning for any event Joey is in if there are two sets of rules for the contest. If anyone did the same as Joey the commish would have been on him or her in a flash, watch the repeats and judge for yourself (if spike dont deleate it). Hey Brian we need your voice in this matter

This is my first time checking in in a few days. What was Anonymous (11/23 4:37pm) talking about with all the talk of Joey’s reversal being removed from Eat Feats? Is that true? If so, that’s pretty strange. Is Big Brother watching? OJ, say it ain’t so!

And yes, it is good to be the King. In every sport, the top athletes get a little preferential treatment by the refs, umps and judges. It’s only natural and it’s part of the perks of being awesome at what you do.

anony 106:pm I finally got a chance to view the show. It appears that Joey had a reversal but he was able to put on a nice show for the cameras so that it would look more like he was removing some turkey from his mouth to make more room. Very wise tactic and the judges were able to give him the benefit of the doubt. He got a second chance and as you can see he cleaned out that turkey like there was no tommorow You cant just DQ the first or second best eater in the world unless its a Pat Philbin like reversal in egg nog . It wont happen in this lifetime especially if its a major television production and big bucks are on the line. A couple of pickle fragments came out of my nose and mouth in a pickle exhibition two years ago and i was automatically DQ’d .It certainly wasnt the greatest call in the world. Was i upset?. Yes but i never made a big issue over it.I respected the commissioner’s decision and moved on . Some looked at that exhibition as a new pickle title for Kevin but in reality it was anything but that. A few things i noticed about the turkey bowl. Goldstein did quite abit of damage to that turkey and i dont believe for one damn minute that he was only credited with 1.91.Looked more like 4plus lbs. Every chance they get they seem to give him the shaft job. Kobe has some personal problems and it reflected on his performance. Let him be for awhile and he will come back with a fury. Pat is a master at this sport and he showed it by stripping the bird bone dry.

Umm… did anyone realize Joey’s total? Even with the clearing that us table enders are afraid to do. He still dominated in that contest beside Pat. The guy works his ass off and puts up amazing totals. Don’t rip him if he has to clear a little in the contest.

Right on the mark Philly Guy.Joey is very impressive and clearing out a little Turkey and going on to eat another 4 pounds. If it were at the near end it would have been more of a concern. No reversal in my opinion.

Hey Philly guy. Rules are rules unless your in Joeys back pocket..Whats good for one is good for all contestants .Maybe there should be a new rule called the Joey rule, allowing each competator to have a reversal at leasr once..Do you think philly, then maybe you can eat

After all was said and done, I thought the Turkey Bowl was fun to watch despite the topics mentioned in the previous posts on here. All eaters did great and made the show entertaining yada yada yada…
BUT-
Is it just me or was George’s “Kobay is going down” or whatever rant a bit much? Not only was I surprised at what was said but more so the lack of professionalism in doing so. I would like to think that the phrase was for entertainment purposes. You know, minding your general audience and the fact they’d probably like to see the long time Japanese champ be defeated once more. Still though, this is Kobayashi you are heckling!

The Yankees had Joe Dimaggio The Red Sox had Ted Williams. IFOCE has Eater X AICE has The Invader. Like Joe D and Ted Williams both will never play for the same team. This is a shame.

Somebody musy have been watching – they talked about the show for about 15 minutes this morning on 99X – Atlanta alternative rock station. They loved George’s ranting and raving, talked about Kobayashi’s troubles, and overall, called it the “sports highlight of the weekend”…..this is a town where the Georgia Bulldogs played Georgia Tech.

Invader that’s a good point and an astute observation. I thought I was the only one who noticed that. Kobayashi made competitive eating and the IFOCE what it is today. Yet, the IFOCE’s MO is to suck you dry, spit you out and move on. You’ve heard of that saying, “What goes around comes around?” Well, it’s coming around already. Just go the the IFOCE Web site and look at all the future events coming up. It has been blank for weeks.
Why? Because Joey and Pat don’t have the world class shoulders of Kobayashi to carry competitive eating through the rough waters. It is my hope that Koby’s jaw heals 100 % , that he kicks Joey’s and Pat’s asses royally for good measure the next time they meet, and that he spits in the face of the Sheas. That’s my solemn wish. He’s too good for them.
Farooq!
