Poor freaking USA. Can’t legitimately win something without cheating. Keep on living in denial buuuuuuuuuuuddy. Were you there to see it go down first-hand? Probably not. So stfu.

If you know anything about Wing Bowl, you would know that it’s an event solely based on wanting to entertain the people of Philly, which subsequently means only the contestants who are favoured are going to have any chance, i.e. people who are FROM Philly.

We’ll see what happens next year when Kobi enters – or should I say IF.

You don’t have to do too much to the wings to rig the event. Not saying it is rigged. Wings takes a multidisciplinary approach to competitive eating. In these long events jaw strength is tested to its limits. Maybe his wings were the toughest to eat, but then again, after you are done with the first batch you get a new one and i don’t know how much different they can be from the other batches of new ones. I don’t know how they can miscount a wing. If he had disagreement he doesn’t have to leave the table, i think they can reconstruct the scene. Plates have pre-determined number of wings on them.

Is there a wing conspiracy or was Pete just jobbed like anybody might have been jobbed? Having a bad judge or spotter could happen no matter where you are from. Every referree might interpret things a little differently. What you have to ask yourself is, is this a conspiracy or just a normal occurence that happend to have affected a person not from philly.

I guess i too am confused. I won’t say it isn’t rigged or that he got robbed, but how can you miscount wings?

Well it’s not a matter of miscounting the wings, it’s a matter of not counting them at all. Pete was told by the referee that he was doing a good job, so by that point Pete said to himself “Ok, I’m gonna keep eating them just the way I am right now, and there won’t be any problems,” but when the first round was over, and after they counted, that referee (who was also reffing squibb and wingador) took away 36 of them, putting him in third place and bumping squibb and wingador into first and second. Pete was well ahead of them by the halfway mark in round 1 with over 100 wings. Squibb and wingador’s wings were not any cleaner than Pete’s – and in fact, some which were counted should not have been counted if they were going by the same [strict] rules as they did when they counted Pete’s.

Also, it’s hard to believe that those two were only one wing apart at the end of round 2 AND at the end of the competition. WIP is retarded. Period.

If it is so rigged…….And only philly ppl win ……..Why do the freaking Bowl at all…………………. you guys wasted money trying to get in and in the end got Jack shitt . Who the real dumbass. 2 ways to eat. Get you face on TV for 5 mins an be poor atthe end of the day. Or freaking eat. And win and have M=O=N=E=Y at the end of the day.

Cutter, there is one judge for every 3-4 eaters. After you finish your plate, they take a look and assign a number. Example, the first round I ate 6 plates of 20 and about 10 off the final plate that round. The judge was giving me all 17 & 18s. So you figure my number should have been around 115 (give or take a few). After the first round, I am announced as 98. Either the guy with the clipboard cannot count or the numbers are fluffed up or down to their liking. It’s always a crap shoot. They were announcing that Pete was way up there during the first round so explain how he gets the number he did?

I never heard them announcing that Pete was Way ahead. They were calling him out as a contender to Wingador and Squibb throughout the first round since he was eating a lot and keeping up with them for the first 10-12 minutes. By the end of the round I think he lost speed. I agree the wing counts were fluffed up or down a bit, but at the end of the day, I really think Squibb ate the most by a lot, and deserved to win. (Even his were lowered I think)

Here we go again… This is not rigged. At least not the winner isn’t. Did any of you whinny punks even watch or were you to drunk and distracted by boobs? Squibb was getting cheated. He was pissed! You could see it on his face at the end of round 2! Pete and the rest of you little wastes of an entry- you may have eaten 174 or whatever number makes you think you’re more of a man, but they prob weren’t clean enough. That’s the name of the game. When I was in it and lost- I knew I was beat by a better guy. You people will look for any reason to start some bs. You don’t like it? Don’t enter! Don’t watch! Fly to Texas and get snowed out of other wing bowls with your cry baby king chestnut. Douchebags!

Hold on. Who is MelC? U a judge? U some body important? Wonder how u can talk on here & quote Pete & sit there & talk about Squibb & Wingadore’s wings. It’s 2 fast paced 4 any body 2 know what’s goin on in 3 different seats. All the sudden ur on here sayin what’s what? Who made u an official? U don’t know what ur talkin about & u sound like Pete’s girl all pissed off. Go home, put a band aid on his little ego & shut up.

I totally agree with Anon! I go every year & was following Super Squibb since he was the reigning champ & he was favored to win. They did announce that Pete was moving quickly. They did announce when Pete hit 100, but they did not announce at that time what Wingadore or Super Squibb’s numbers were. Pete slowed down. He looked like he was going to vomit. It’s possible WIP did that to encourage the two champs to keep pushing so they would put up numbers higher than Jaws’s record. Anyone who was there could tell you that’s some eaters numbers were higher than they said. None of us know how clean the wings were. Being a vet attendee of Wing Bowl I can tell you for a fact that was the fastest I’ve ever seen Wingadore ever eat. Oddly, there were times when he just stopped in the last 2 rounds & his numbers were higher than Super Squibb’s? I dont think so. Even Super Squibb looked angry like he was being cheated at the end of round 2. I could see members of the WIP staff pull Wingadore aside & were all smiles at the end before they announced the winner. I remember thinking to myself – this IS rigged. If Super Squibb didn’t win it was rigged. My friends & I counted his wings & we had him at 313!! Maybe they were not all clean, but that is how many he had. USMale I’m sorry. You put on a good show, but you were beaten by the better competitors. It was evident from the sidelines. MelC I think that end comment about the final count between Wingadore & Super Squibb is true. I agree that there is no possible way that the two finalists were that close. Some of you honestly need to calm down. Super Squibb won square. It may not have been fair to the others or even to him since he put up a considerably higher number of wings, but all & all he still ate the most. Fluffed numbers or not. I cannot wait to see him beat Kobi next year!! Good job to all of the participants & congrats Super Squibb!!! I had a great time & it was a great show!!!

USMale look at the score card picture. You were moved up above Pete to fourth. What are you complaining about. It looks like it was fixed in your favor. Squibb deserved to win. He ate the most. He was the fastest. He is a respectable and fair man. He doesn’t trash talk & he is all business. Went there to win & won. Wingadore will hang up the eater tshirt now that he’s launching his new wing line. The rest have a lot of work to do & I hope the kid cleans up the floor with that Kobi!!!

Ok. Thanks US Male, i understand a little more now. How was the texture? Were they dry and hard to get off the bone and hard to chew or did they come of the bone and down the hatch with less effort. I am curious as to what the competitors had to go through. In a competition like this, if rigged, it doesn’t matter who the winner is, all of those are good numbers. I guess when MLE was involved the contest was fair. I admire the effort. Wings are a very tricky matter.

US Male only moved up because Pete quit. He never beat Pete. For all the trash talk you came out with nothing . So you had a great time and hung out with great people big deal. You can go to a club or bar and hang out with great people . You got nothing for the effort you put into this rigged event

The top three wing eaters ever are:

    1. Jon Squibb
    2. Joey Chestnut
    3. El Wingador

    That’s the bottom line!

A lot of guys threw in the towel. Threw up, stopped eating, or bowed out. If there was a problem why didn’t anyone say something there- live, in person, in front of 20k people? WIP would have had no choice, but to confront the allegations. Could have called out the event on television stations nation wide if it was rigged. No one did! You all just sat there defeated. You didn’t even stand up for yourselves! Be embarrassed and ashamed of that! Don’t come here and trash talk the champs. They gave their all. The fought til the last wing. They were covered on sweat, sauce, and tears and approached this like they were going to war. Fought to “the death” of a champion. One man fell and one stood victiorous. Anyone who pays attention knew by the odds of the stunts/wing offs the contest would come down to those two. Deal with the outcome. Take the year to practice, train, push, & try again next year. As for this year, the best man won.

Fridge, you idiot! I was not saying I beat Pete or anybody else that finished above me. I layed down the facts on my first round as it went down and I will let Pete speak for himself as to what his numbers were. From what I heard (since I could not watch), Pete put up an amazing number. He is a great eater and was not happy with what was happening. Squibb did an amazing job and I definitely shook his hand and congratulated him. The best man won, period. I did pass Pete and his bogus number in the third round because Pete chose not to eat anymore and I wanted to finish the contest (win or lose). That’s the way I roll. I was there to compete and eat as many wings as possible and I think I did that. if you can do better, feel free to join me next year.

Cutter, the wing bowl was not fair when the MLE was involved. Why did Bob shoudt never make it to the second round? Enough said!

The wing bowl may be subjective but it is a day off of work and a day to party and have a little fun.

Bob Shoudt is not exactly the monster eater in wings as he is in most other foods. I think Male is as good or better in wings than Not. Bob.
