Furious Pete qualifies for Wing Bowl 19
The Wing Bowl website announces that “Furious” Pete Czerwinski (called Gerwinski on the website) qualified for Wing Bowl 19 by eating 50 hard boiled eggs in 12 minutes (gallery | video). Pete juggled the eggs when he realized he would have enough time to complete his stunt successfully. (originally via Brian Seiken comment)
Pete will not be the first Wing Bowl competitor from Canada. Chunk, “the Canadian Jackass”, competed in the 2005 Wing Bowl. His entourage carried a banner with “CFL: The Real Football” on it.

Any body from the area who’s any body knows Cataldi and his morning croanies are full of it. They pick who THEY want to win. They couldn’t get Chestnut, so they brought back Wingadore. Winga-who? That’s right. He doesn’t even matter any more. No body knows who he is- let’s bring in a ringer from Canada. This is starting to look more like the WWE than a Wing Bowl.

Hey TheFridge – what’s the difference between this and the MLE contests? Not much. The Shea’s pick who they want, and these guys are doing the same. Do you really think Crazy Legs ate his way into all the Nathan’s finals? He is a showman, and that’s what they were after. Joey and the other MLE eaters have decided to not do the Wing Bowl.

Pete’s job with eggs is commendable (honestly something i probably would not attempt). I don’t see how a successful stunt translates into eating chicken wings faster than other people. I think as an eater Pete deserves to win, can win, and should be given consideration and an opportunity to win. Wings are a specialty however and I do not know how good Pete is at wings. I guess we will see. He looks to have considerable jaw strength which will be an attribute. As far as the MLE contest, that too I believe will not necessarily be won by the best eater of other foods. If Sonya is in it, I think she will win it. Wings vary and sometimes jaw strength is very important. On the other hand some slide off the bone and go down very easy, and hand speed and technique are more important.

Let’s not forget Dave US Male in this competition. He must have a purpose and a plan after disobeying an MLE directive and proceeding on with WIng Bowl. Pete will probably not end up in the final round due to his being an outsider but I wish him the best.

I think every body is forgetting that Super Squibb is no pro. Just an average Joe…well, Jon- who competes for the the love of the game. I seen this kid eat & he killed it by 20 wings & there were “pros” in that contest to. If I had to put money on Super Squibb, I’d take those odds every time. The kid is a machine! Be affraid.

I think 610 should be ashamed of themselves. They have it out for Super Squibb cause he is the real deal. They only seem to want to attract garbage. Drunk jerks like Chestnut… Reality TV jokes like Snookie… What happened to the wing eat eating contest? It sits in the shadows being used as a beard to mask the stripper/trailer park festival. They are making a mockery of competitive eating. If it is in fact a true contest they would have a member of the entourage, a wingette, & an official present while they count each of the wings during judging per round. Let the real Wing King be the champion. You’ll see Squibb in the crown again. I know it! That man is all business.

50 hard boiled in 12 minutes? Hah, Sonya ate 65 in 6 minutes and 40 seconds years ago and in a recent interview she estimates she could probably top 100 in 10 minutes. One more no-talent eater qualifies for Wing Bowl.

Competitive eating = politics, whoever pedals the most bs wins. IFOCE/MLE = republicans/democrats. Think they’re the best & full of it. Squibb gets my vote & respect. We got an independent in office & I want 2 c him win again. That kid is proof that it doesn’t take a rock star, fat guy, or loud mouth belemic drunk 2 put that much food down. Proof that the avg workin guy can throw their hat in the race & win! He’s the same as the rest of us that listen 2 WIP & we wanna believe we can do it 2! Hope he goes a 3x.

Are people really debating the fate of wingbowl this year? Did you guys see what happened last year? It was like a elementary baseball team vs the Yankees. No competition. What makes you think this year is any different? I personally witnessed Squibb take down 16 fully loaded 3-4 egg omlettes casually eating breakfast…. I’m pretty sure he could eat 50 eggs in 3 minutes if he was really trying. How many more WB will it take to get rid of the haters…

Jakes Burger Challenge was a joke! Saw a video on YouTube- Squibb lost by like .28 secs. Funny thing about that contest- they called him later to compete in the finals anyway and he said no. I know cause that was the only reason I got called. I think if your gonna post the canoli contest as proof there should be a # next to him not a ?? Just sayin. Im in it to win it, but I wouldnt downplay Squibbs talent. We all have a off day.
