The Guardian reports that a mince pie eating contest sanctioned by the IFOCE will be held at Wookey Hole Caves in Somerset on November 29. Sonya Thomas is expected to compete for the £1,000 ($1890) first prize.

Then it looks like Sonya may not be back in time to defend her meatball title. Or if she is back in time and does compete she’ll be very jet-lagged. Anyway, I won’t believe Sonya will be in the UK until I see it, because there’s more money for Sonya in meatballs.
