He’s a good guy. I thought he retired about two years ago. I guess it wasn’t official.

marriage can do that to you. Before he got married his entire life was revolved around competitive eating

It’s not marriage, it’s common sense. He had fun with CE and now it’s time to step aside. Did you read his quote about no longer destroying his digestive system. It takes a class act like Hall and Ed Jarvis to know when it’s time to walk away.

I met Hall once, he was a great guy, very positive and supportive. I think he took his CE career as far as it could go, I think he accomplished all he was going too in the sport by making multiple Nathan’s and Krystal’s final table.

When you’re single you do a lot of things you normaly won’t when you’re married, sometimes things become more important in life then traveling city to city eating 30 burritos in ten minutes. Family, a career, a healthy marriage, his health for the future (I fear for Joey and Pat in this department, not only do they eat the amount they can, but they consume more booze alone then some fratarnities do in a single night) is probably now his top priority.

    Best of luck, Hall!!!

When they leave the sport they mention the negative aspects like destroy digestive system but when they are active in the sport that kind of stuff is kept under the table. Let’s cut the crap ok?
