Hall Hunt’s October 2008 poll released
Hall Hunt has compiled the October edition of his top 25. The top 10:

Bruce “The Hangman” Pobanz was the only eater besides Joey Chestnut to receive a first place vote.

The new poll asks when you think the next IFOCE poll will come out. The last poll was released in April.
Jason Petrie has set up a ranking system which awards 100-10 points for major contests and 25-1 points for other non-qualifiers. His listing is available after the jump:

Enough is enough …. Rhonda’s own Poll:
1. Joey (Even though he has lost to the four below him just this year alone, he wins the ones that have the most money behind them.)
2. Koby (Only eater to destroy Joey in competition {Chicken in Singapore}, by almost 3 lbs.)
3. Pat (Can top Joey half the time, but comes no where close to Joey or Koby in HDBs, and they had to take two Krystals away from Koby for him to be placed ahead of Koby in the finals.)
4. Tim (Killed everyone else in HDBs, and won over Joey and Pat in grits.)
4. Bob (I can’t separate Bob from Tim. They both beat Joey this year. Tim’s the man in HDBs. Bob is a bit better in Krystals. Bob won over Joey and in Chili Spaghetti.)
6. Sonya (Won two back-to-back contests in Buffalo, Labor Day WE, and was a fairly close second to the greatest jalapeno eater in the world after Krystals.)
7. Hall (Beat Sonya in Krystals qualifier, his only win ever over her, then was routed by Pat, Sonya, and Erik in jalapenos 2 weeks later.)

Too much is not enough and three much is a crowd, and no one wants to be alone, here’s my picks!
1. Young Joseph – beat them for money
2. Patrick – beat them, then catered their funerals
3. Kobster – tired from Birmingham massacre, killed most of them in Chattanooga
4. Hangman – he claims to have whipped them all
5. Timothy the Whaler Dude – killed everyone with harpoon
6. Timothy the Gravy Dude – farted, and destroyed them
7. Not so Humble Robert – sweated on all of them, then smothered them with his sweaty towel
8. Old Guy from Vegas – bored them with accounting stories until they all died
9. God’s favorite dude – prayed he would slay them, and did sometimes
10. Black Widow dudette – made them eat cholesterol in her restaurant, and old greasy fries, which killed them.
11. Red Dude – would have beaten them like a viking warrior if sloppy lady got fined for lack of neatness, like she should have.
12. Big Black Dude – slayed them with his singing
13. Legged Dude – watched death enhancing movies for three days, slipped into coma, just after killing some of them
14. Lovely lady – ate so sloppy, debris flew into their eyes, ears, and noses…..killed them
15. Dr. Bigdude – bragged so much, they all died of ear pain
16. Patrick Van Dude – new dude, magically showed up, and whipped bigger dudes into submission
17. Beautiful Whining Dude – sang so bad, they let him win to shut him up….singing killed them all
18. El Bull Dude – became Assasin dude, and assasinated all of them, since he couldn’t out eat them.
19. Dude from Moonachie – got revenge for Vegas snub, sat on them and killed them.
20. SkinnyDude – couldn’t out eat them, so he arm wrestled them to death
21. Wild Normal Looking Fat Dude – wrote down that he beat them. which killed them all inside.
22. Pretty Dude – flashed his blue eyes at them, which caused them to swoon backwards, fall over strategically placed cliff, and die. So he ate more spinach than them all.
23. Many Named Older Dude – held up sign that said “I win, so cheer for me”, they believed it, and that killed them.
24. Scary Clown Dude – Couldn’t out eat none of them, so he out-dressed them, which embarassed them to death.

I’m not saying I’m a better eater than koby but they deducted him 2 burgers because they were cracking down on asshole stuffs at the end. If you want to count the 2 burgers palmed in his hand outside of his mouth then go ahead. I was deducted 1 burger for debris and didn’t have any burgers in my palm. I am not near them in hdbs but that is only one contest, hopefully they crack down on sloppyness and bull shit eating at nathans too.

I want to thank all of the voters who voted for me in this poll. It does not matter to me how any of you voted. Just want to say thanks to you all.
Also want to thank Super Paul for the #11 spot in his 2008 Best Dressed Poll. I have met Presidents, have multiple Congressional Awards and Proclamations on my wall. Received keys to the city and had a few days named in my honor for my many years of dedicated volunteer community work.
This week I just turned 52 and received yet another award. Now His Lordship is another title I can add to my name. I’ll be posting the documents on the Internet at a later time. The First Regal Lord to be in CE if my research is correct.
I look forward to my new ranking in the MLE. Again thank you to all the voters who voted in this recent poll.

Hall shouldn’t even publish this poll. It is obvious that a lot of his voters don’t take it seriously. Somebody put the Hangman first?!? Enough said right there. And then to have Hall ahead of Sonya and Tim…that doesn’t make any sense. Hall has one victory over her in 4 years, and unless they’ve eaten together privately, he’s never beaten Tim.

I agree that some of the voting sometimes seems to have no merit placed on the actual results from contests. As of now, I am counting all the votes because it is purely a poll and I make sure all votes must be counted (despite Florida’s shady past with the vote tallying).
If anyone has any ideas of certain criteria for the validity of votes please let me know. I would love to implement something on future polls.

That’s a pretty good list but I’m not feeling the love. I’ve done 7 contest going back to last October 14th, and I’ve got a 1st and three second place finishes all against top eaters. (Saratoga Nathans, 23-22 over Legs, 2nd to Legs in Jackson Krystals last year, 44 to 40, 2nd to Juliet in Pittsburg Nathan’s 29-19.75, 2nd to Booker in Camden Nathans 27.5-22). In these and the other contests, I beat (head to head) Crazy Legs, Steakbellie 3 times, Wing Kong 3 times and US Male 4 times (I’ve never lost to the last 3). I’ve only competed against Davekos 1 time that I can think of, but I beat him 40-22 in Jackson Krystals last October. I also hold the world record for Watermelon (which I had to beat Rich Lefevre and Pat Bertoletti for), I’ve made the Coney Island final table and the Krystals final table twice. At one time or another, I’ve beaten head to head: Lefevre (watermelon), Bertoletti (watermelon), Janus (Krystals), Shoudt (Nathan’s), Booker (first Buffet Bowl), Hardy (Nathan’s) and Crazy Legs (a few times). I suppose if I compete 10-12 times per year and finish 5th every time I’ll move up, but I’d rather do 7 and finish 1st or 2nd most of the time. Rhonda, has all the love gone out of our relationship?

Jim , you are the most underated eater that ever lived. I made a huge mistake of slamming you in the Ohio Zyeng noodle contest in May 2004 a contest in which i never showed. The only contest in my entire career that i was given star billing which i didnt deserve either. . Remember my headline “I would have wiped the floor with alll of them” . The next day i recieved an email from you challenging me anytime anywhere with a long list of your accomplishments in the sport. I think that was the only time i put my ego where it shouldnt have been.I was getting alot of exposure back then and i let it get the best of me. Your watermelon victory is a title that you every right to brag about . Your’e like the guy in the lineup that hits 30 to 35 homeruns every year but never got into the hall of fame

Pat, I remeber when You beat Bob in Philadelphia, because you also beat me. I have terrible luck in and around Philly, finishing second there 3 times (Philly, QVC, Camden). I finish second a lot no matter where I compete, but when I lose, I own it, and it’s always with a clean plate and clear conscience. The reality is, I’ve also finished 1st five times, as recently as this summer, which is more than I can say for a lot of the guys ranked ahead of me (not including you.) I always liked your bald head. You’re one of the few guys out there with less hair than me.

Reading these few here who repeatedly complain about Hall Hunts poll reminds me that the Presidential Election is almost here.
One thing our history has shown is that there are many complainers, like here, who after the election is over ,voice their opinion and say the election or in this case, the poll is wrong. This one should have been placed higher than another. One who got high scores did not deserve them. Some should have been placed lower than another.
In elections, most of the time it is about 20 percent who take the time to vote and then the other 80 percent complain and moan until the next election.
Hall Hunt has an eaters poll. It is open to anyone to vote he says. How many took the time to vote on the last poll. Maybe 10? Over 100 eaters and only 10 vote. Yet still we have those who did not vote making the most noise after the voting is over.
IFOCE has their own top 50 rankings. AICE has their own rankings. WLOCE has their own rankings. Hall Hunt has his poll. Bruce Pobanz has his senior league rankings. Paul Barlow has his best dressed rankings. There are other rankings out there. You can be a part of any of these or you can start your own. It is easy to sit back, hide under false names and complain about how unfair the elections or polls are. Like they say, if you do not take the time to vote, and your man or woman does not get what you think should be, then you deserve what you get.
Good going to Hall Hunt, Bruce Pobanz and Paul Barlow. At least they are doing something positive instead of repeatedly complaining behind false names. Say what you will. At least these three are promoting CE. And that is good no matter what the naysayers continue to shout about the polls and elections in their minds being unfair.
