    One thing I hope this young man (Ben) eventually learns is don’t get yourself trapped into interviews that goad you into comparing yourself (usually negatively) with other top eaters. It does not do well with endearing yourself to fans and other eaters on the circuit. Things can get very chilly back stage and at the table — and who needs that added pressure. Not a criticism, just some advice. You have a choice. If you want your career to the way of the Dale Boone who’s taunting spoke louder than his eating abilities, that’s fine. Or, you could choose to go the way of Koby, who has nothing but good to say about his fellow eaters, and lets his eating abilities speak for him. Choose well grasshopper and good luck on St. Pats day.

    What’s the big deal? He said he’s going to turn heads this year and he hopes to reach the #1 spot. What is he supposed to say? “I’m going to fade into obscurity this year and I hope to be ranked somewhere in the top 20.”

    As a rookie, the man kicked the crap out the world’s #1 ranked eater. I think he’s entitled to a few bold statements.

    Without getting into to many details, for only being 22 years old Ben has gone through a crap load of adversity in his life, some self inflicted some just bad luck. For all the things he’s been thorough and over come, I’m actually quit proud of him and he is somebody I respect highly, cuz lesser people would have gone down a much worse path then he did.

    Sure he might flex his muscle here and there or pat himself on the back, but who gives a shit? We all have our moments when we are proud of our accomplishments, it’s common human behavior.

    This comp will not solitify his place, this is only his 4 competetion, he has plenty of time to make his mark in this crazy world we call copetetive eating.
