Am I blind or is the IFOCE snubbing all the secondary eaters again.. Loyalty?

It’s a world record attempt. That’s why they’re going with their beat eaters. It makes sense.

    What is the record currently?

I have to say, however, that Tim’s game is not the short game. He needs time. If that contest were 20 minutes, Tim would romp!

No doubt, the record will be broken, whatever it is. It’s a toss up between Joey and Pat. Pat is a speed demon. He has Kobayashi-like speed for 6-8 minutes or less.

After that his speed tapers off to extrarodinary, instead of superhuman.

That record will fall. It will be close between Joey and Pat—-too close to call … both are speed demons!

Tim’s game is not speed; he needs time. If the contest were 20 minutes Tim would romp.

The last post was mine. I got logged out and posted similar remarks twice, thinking my computer was unresponsive.

    Sorry ……… 🙁

Anyone know where one would get a list of Guiness records for CE? Their site does not seem to have them listed.

This is enough of a reason for IFOCE members to withdraw and go elsewhere. Hand picked eaters and then they have a nerve to ask us to join the fan page for this contest

You probably have to go down to the Hall of Records.

They don’t track eating records, Nun. Back in the 70s and 80s, Guinness tracked eating records and even posted them in their annual book (I know because I remember marveling at them in my dog eared copy of the book when I was a kid). In the past 10 years, Guinness announced that they would stop tracking eating records because of the dangers involved in competitive eating, but from the looks of it, they might be changing their tune.

This is why all eating challanges and contests are fare game. How do we get the experience with out being able to competeI guess they dont want us to get better for fear of the possibility of one of us beating one of their golden boys

DISGUSTED, incredible, “secondary eaters”, etc — Do you know why you guys never get invited to these type of things? Because no one knows who you are outside of the competitive eating community. If you knew anything about how things work, sponsors request specific eaters because name recognition brings attention to their product. The sponsors want to make money not make some eater famous. No one’s stopping you to not sign a contract, go out on your own, and eat at the local county fair and other smaller contests. If you think you can win more contests, get more prize money, and get better name recognition outside of the MLE and any other organization more power to you. But quit complaining, and if you do get a shot to eat against a top eater with name recognition go ahead and beat them, make a name for yourself, then maybe some day a major sponsor will pay for your travel and appearance fees.

So Seiken fan, Seiken’s claim to fame would be to punch someone out, that’s his face time, the one he wants on national television? Doesn’t seem like a unique talent.

Nice try “Seiken Fan.” Everyone knows Beautiful Brian doesn’t have any fans, so the author of that comments has to be BB himself!! You sneaky devil, you!

By the way, OJ, nice work finding the Guinness scan! It’s further proof of why you should be the first non-eater (or are you?) inducted in the future Competitive Eating Hall of Fame.

Thanks, but old Guinness books are not that difficult to find. They are quite common in used book stores and library sales.

Seiken is a good guy. He just wants some credit once in awhile. Is that asking too much?

Seiken is a good guy who wants credit for what? Trashing people and making things up? His words here speak for themselves. So yes, asking for good credit points is rather unbelievable and asking too much.

Pat Bertoletti has a video of him setting the Ice Cream World Record on Regis & Kelly a couple of years back. They might have decided to go with things they consider “safe”.

How are Mars bars be any “safer” than other foods?
