So what you’re saying is, there’s been ONE UPDATE since NOVEMBER 2006. ONE UPDATE in the past 493 days. That’s classy.

I’ve noticed the rankings seem to be 90% based on Nathan’s. So I’m sure they’re just waiting until Nathan’s is over to update them.

They moved Pat ahead of Kobayashi. So you guys are all liars. There has been an update. Stop lying, liars.

I think its best they hold off on the rankings until after bway on the beach. If i am confirmed for that contest i intend on putting up impressive numbers . This way my rise in the rankings will be totally justified.

While there are certainly specialists in various foods / food groups, and while it would not be fair to base rankings on only one, two, or three events, Nathan’s Hotdogs are the single best indicator of talent that there is. If you go back through the years, the placings in that event are fairly consistent with eater rankings.

Pat has been listed in front of Kobayashi since turkey and wings on Spike last fall.

When you bomb in B’way at the Beach, will your lack of a ranking be justified according to you??

Beautiful. B, not that I am talking crap or anything, but it seems as though they really don’t look at anyone else’s #’s, in fact I don’t think there are #’s. They just announce the winner with the list of food.
On another note, this can be a good contest for you because there is a variety of food involved and it’s very fast, if you can do it or get in (and I am sure you will) I think you’ll do fine, but not many eaters get recognized for there efforts in this contest because it is one prize. They will make brief mention of eaters who compete, but overall the winner is solely recognized for the feat.

Kevin, it is true, Nathans has a strong weight on the rankings, but it also sounds like K-Ross is eying HDB’s, is pumped and ready to tear some Nathans up. I bet you can do a deuce by now if you are preparing for the qualifiers. Good luck

Joe, if you were eating Nathan’s HDBs how many do you suppose you could eat? I’m thinking about 27-28. Do you think that’s in the ballpark?

    Rhonda,

At this moment low to mid 20’s.

With a bit of training I might be able to get to the low 30’s.

Hot dogs are probably my worst event, because of the buns not the dogs.

    We’ll never know.

Even if the Shea’s weren’t involved, I don’t think Coney dogs would have me, nor would I want to go to get doubled or more.

If I lived in outside Vancouver, or Atlanta, etc I may have been content to get my annual trip to NY.

But, i’m 80 miles away, & can go to the big city anytime I want.

Speaking of ballparks, with new Yankee Stadium having a Metro-North stop, i’m sure i’ll be visiting NY more in the future.

Low 30s. Whatever, man. That’s such bullshit, and you know it.

Rhonda, the reason the placings in Nathans are so consistent with the MLE rankings is because the MLE rankings are so heavily based on the placings in Nathan’s (unless you’re referring to pre-contest rankings matching up with the contest placings).

I just don’t understand how almost 500 days can pass with only ONE rankings update (NOT counting Pat’s movement ahead of Koby). Not taking the time to update the rankings is an insult to all of the eaters who work so hard to improve themselves and all of the eaters (and fans) who take the sport of competitive eating so seriously…a lot more seriously than those in charge of the rankings!

If I was humble bob I would only eat at krystals every year and he should be able to move up to number two in the world. Why are the two girls still in the top ten?
