Hot Dogs are F@&#in’ Nasty. One is about one too many. Next to Kobi and obviously Chestnut, this brilliant Mother F’er got the most Publicity and only had to eat one of those NASTY DOGS!!!! Hope all you others learned something!
STOOPID MONKEY OUT.

The amount of “publicity” he got is nothing compared to how much credibility he lost with his fellow competitors and competitive eating fans. He threw the game! He should be suspended for one year (or life!) from any future IFOCE sanctioned events. Hungry Charles Hardy, now’s your chance to flex some of those Commissioner muscles.

I dont know which is worse Oleg not showing for the finals last year or Donahue eating one hot dog. I mentioned in bits and pieces last month that he should be removed from the rankings and i caught some heat for that remark. When i print something i dont just print it without thinking. I usually go through ideas like a fine tooth and comb before i post it . I told you he is a jerk or just wants to be noticed like alka seltzer when he watched kobe eat pasta. Funny he didnt act that way when he weighed 350 lbs.

I think you people are being too hard on him. Yeah doing 20 at Coney would be sweet but he knew he wouldn’t have too much to gain in eating 20 because he knew there were 9 or 10 or more people who’d eat more. And being 10th or 11th wouldn’t mean too much. And why eat all the crap if you don’t need to. His qualifier win with 19.5 should prove what he can do and he should be respected for that, the same way Erik should be respected for eating 22 at Coney – you could nitpick and say “Erik ate 22.5 at the qualifier and only 22 at Coney, WTF”. Erik and others ate less at Coney than in their qualifier wins, so Jed did the same. Big fucking deal. In 10 years nobody could say who finished 13th at Coney in 2006. But in 10 years most people will know who has eaten the least at Coney.

I realize that coming to Jed’s defense may in some way get him in trouble, since I’m considered to be the anti-christ & all, but its not like he was someone who had a chance of beating Kobe. In 2001 I decided to stop after completing #10 because of what Kobe was doing. I figured even if I came in last w/10 atleast it was double digits. As it turned out, a half dozen or more eaters finished behind me, so Jed & I obviously aren’t the only ones to do ‘less than there best’.
This contest is all about attention… Its not like there is ANY money involved…
I like the story he came up w/ even though I think it was scripted by a Shea. Plus he’s full of sheet. The perfect dog… why not just get on your knees & give Wayne Norbitz (who left the area at 1:22pm) hummer right there on the stage.
Not showing is much, much worse.

It was Jed’s spot in the finals he had the right to with it as he pleased. I personally would have went all out and I would have prefered that everyone else did to, but Hey I didn’t make it and he did. Jed good job with your one hotdog.

The problem is everyone and their mother will be like I can beat 1! Then they talk shit and look down on the organization. Its bad enough having everyone discredit what we do untill they try, now we have more to put up with.

We can argue the fact that he knew he couldn’t beat Koby all day, but I personally don’t think that enought of a reason to justify tanking. Hell, 16 of the 20 eaters on that stage knew they couldn’t beat Koby, but they ate.
So how do we make sure this doesn’t happen again? Maybe offer money to the winner (why doesn’t the biggest event in CE have a purse?) all the way down to 7th or 8th place. That way, event the “worst” eater has a chance at money and a reason to compete (because obviously “pride” isn’t reason enough).

Megamunch doesn’t have any idea how the majority of the IFOCE’s eaters feel about what Jed did at Coney Island. I don’t know why he writes that
Jed lost credibility with his fellow eaters.

He made it to the table so he can do what he wants. That being said I think you gotta respect somebody like Erik Denmark or Joe Larue who flew to Coney just for the last minute chance for that honor. Denmark did the Duece on the 4th having done it also on the 3rd, that shows some class that he pushed himself. I know I’m not 100% the next day.
