Joe LaRue to defend Marathon, NY pancake title

pressconnects.com has some information about the pancake eating contest to be held at the Central New York Maple Festival in Marathon, NY on Saturday:

The 11th annual Pancake Eating Contest, billed as a “‘Fun’ Raiser with Sweet Profits,” will start at 9 a.m. sharp Saturday in the Marathon High School auditorium. A field of 10 — one woman and nine men — is competing for the title; non-profit organizations solicited pledges per pancake for their “eater.”

The record holder, Joe LaRue of Florida, is coming back to defend his title and perhaps best his record of 30 pancakes. Joe stands 6 feet 8 inches and really knows how to put those pancakes down. This year, he will be eating pancakes for the Peck Memorial Library in Marathon, which is seeking funds for a major renovation and restoration projects.

Its for charity, its where he’s from, & he’s been doing it for many years. If he doesn’t specifically have permission, i’m sure even the $hea’$ will give it to him.

oh and until there is a revolt it is unfair that some schumcks can do extra curricular stuff while other schmucks cannot

no didnt the ifoce ban say ban? it didnt say ban except for this or that. so ban all or have no ban. this is as comical as the pat puke thing because the ifoce does whatever they want and it sucks that you people put up with it

You say revolt?! There will not be a revolt.

Most of the ifoce people who have been there for 2 yrs or more have accepted there fate. Most of the newer elements don’t matter. Nearly all of them have proven they are only out for themselves.

There was a time when Hardy could have helped change things. Then Cookie & Booker could have changed things. After that Sonya & Kobe could have changed things. Now, I don’t know if Kobe or Chestnut or anyone else have that power. Only if they are strong TOGETHER. Which, based on the past, is HIGHLY unlikely.

Hey ifoce guys & gals start practicing this line. “HOW HIGH?”

Stork, a grandfather clause can exist outside of a simple email. In this case it does. Stop whining, and stop trying to outsmart people, and give your nickname back to Ted Hendricks. You stole it from him.

I think it’s time for all IFOCE members to consider going off the reservation.

    What the Duece!?!?
I’m having a huge challenge trying to fend/incapacitate Chesnut, and then Hall throws LaRue in the Mix with a Gimme. BB the Meatsweats NEED you! Somehow we gotta get you in there to slap back some Flapjacks!

Gentleman Joe do you suppose Koby’s contract is different from that of the other IFOCE members? Does he fall under the same guidelines do you suppose? I was just wondering, but have no knowledge to even venture a guess. Do you think he has more liberties than other IFOCE or MLE eaters?

Just like most coaches have the RULES & then different rules for there stars, I absolutely believe that Kobe’s contract is different…presuming he has a contract, & not just some..alliance or understanding.

Rhonda, do you believe that Kobe comes here just for airfare for Coney & tiny burgers, etc.? I guarantee he’s paid to come. I don’t think they would pay any of the Brian’s to go do you? They would pay to go!

Kobe gets a 25,000 dollar fee just to show up! Plus prize money, to boot. Anyone who disputes this is stupid. My source is a very reliable one. Trust me he deserves it for how much he has elevated the sport..

while people may all have heard a different amount only a complete idiot would argue that kobiyashi does not deserve anything he gets

I believe he gets less than $25G’s. If contacted by someone other than the ifoce he may ask $25G’s but not from the $hea;$ & probably not from Wayne “Get me out of here as quickly as possible” Norbitz. I saw him pulling out at 1:23 last year. He is worth more than $25, for the Coney contest, & I hope he is making huge coin from Coors. He should be making more than the president…he’s had a much better 6 years.

You can call this entry, speedeat part II

I have to agree with this comment. After watching the St Patricks day chowdown, two specific saved by the bell kids had expressions on their face that told it all. Basically the expression read . “i give a shit about noone but myself” Hint: It wasn’t Pat Bertoletti
