The Idaho Statesman reports that Joe Menchetti won $5,000 by eating 3 pounds of rib meat in 8 minutes at the Eagle Rib Shack’s rib eating contest at Boise Hawks field.
Updated June 26 2:41 pm the Startle Grams blog has a picture of the contest along with pictures of other eating contests held this weekend.

It’s funny that he wasn’t motivated to eat more since the prize money was $5000. For 5 grand you would think that the totals wouldn’t be so anemic.

Boone is so pitiful i wouldnt waste my time kicking his ass physically or at an eating contest.What do you expect from a cheater that had a fist full of pelmenis clenched in his hand in sept 2003 thinking that someone didnt see that and it wouldn’t have been brought to George Shea’s attentiion.
