Joey Chestnut factoids in Sports Illustrated
The following data about Joey Chestnut comprise a row in the factoids matrix in the current issue of Sports Illustrated (page 37):
Person I’d most like to meet: Bill Clinton
Nickname as a kid: Puff (the Magic Dragon)
Most scared I’ve ever been: Being chased by a pack of wild dogs at age 6
Song that reminds me of summer: Take Me Out to the Ballgame
Book I’m currently reading: Eat This Book (Ryan Nerz)
Superhero I’m most like: Wolverine
(Perhaps Joey’s scary experience has resulted in a hatred of “dogs” which he displays at Nathan’s contests)

Well, right now, let him have his joy “if” he appears that way. He is a lethal-ass eater. Right now his 50 HDB record is untouchable from any other eater except for 2 other guys to compete such as ChipBurger Simpson and Pat Bertoletti. Many competitive eaters have their own sites and, yeah, some have a lot about them and their achievements on there. But you can’t just have a site and not any pride in your achievements, especially if you’re a ranked and bad-ass eater.
As I said before, most of the IFOCE eaters are for the most past friendly and respectful of others, especially their achievements. ANd what i have heard about him, he seems mindful of others. What i mean is, he gives props to others.
Sorry if i came on strong with the hater bashing, but it seems that whenever someone does well, or anythings going good for someone, its seems that some form of jealousy or hate starts to reek on this site. What the heck? Do they not have anything positive to say? To any of those type of people, i have to say, “Just bring it to the table with those you have issues with.”

It’s really weird how Joey’s new found hotdog eating ability doesn’t seem to carry over to other foods. I can’t figure that out. By eating 50 hotdogs he should be absolutely annihilating every American eater, but that is not happening. It’s just one of those things that is hard to figure out.

He hasn’t been in any other contests since the Las Vegas hot dog qualifier. He annihilated his previous self in that contest.

He hasn’t done anything since the 50. He should put up a huge number in grilled cheese this weekend.

I think the reason Joey is doing so much better with hotdogs is because he has more motivation to do well with them than other contests. He really wants to beat Takeru since he has never done so. He has beaten every American already, so he doesn’t push himself as hard when only other Americans are competing.

My performance in hotdogs reflects the months hard work I have put into training for Coney Island. I have had almost no chance to train for grilled cheese, so I do not expect to perform nearly as well this weekend. I do expect it to be a close contest.

Mr. Neg I’m almost old enough to be your mum. Don “Moses” Lerman is more my speed. I’d share a dog with him anytime. Seriously Don has always been one of my favorites. He is a legend and his record speaks for itself.

Joey you are indeed becoming a great eater avery fast nd I am just surprised at your massive increases in hotdogs in such a short time. If you can do 50 dogs you should easily do 40 – 45 grilled cheeses. The contest should be a runaway for you no matter who attends. I would be totally shocked if you lose this contest. I will be shocked even if it is close.

Joey do not listen to Loner, his screen name speaks for itself. I’ve watched you come up since your first contest and I have NOT been disappointed by ANY of your performances. You are up and coming! All your hard work is/will pay off in time. You should be proud of all your accomplishments, shit, I’m seriously impressed!! By the way Loner if you talk the talk, you better be able to walk the walk. Back your shit talkin up! The way I see it all your comments is “open mouth, insert foot.”
