Takeru Kobayashi has updated his twitpic page with two new pictures. He says that he has been purchasing items for his New York City apartment, so he must feel optimistic about his August 5 hearing.

Very interesting. He seems to be immersing himself in life in NYC, definitely has a new look. His interpreter is a professional stylist as well. Imagine this scenario. No Krystals this year, they put their funds into a television commercial, the Free Kobayashi becomes the poster hero for Krystals.

Koby has some bold fashion sense, I’ll give him that. It’s works in NYC (Manhattan?) though.

I can see him moving to NYC because of the taxes and boredom of eating sushi . NYC is known for its variety of lavish cuisine which is void in Japan. Although he is viewed as royalty in the competitive eating community he is viewed as just the opposite in Japan.

Anony 9:02, none of what you wrote is informed. I refrain from being snide but Tokyo has a Michelin Guide and amazing world class cuisine. Everyday so called fast food, even Mickey D burgers are tasty in Japan. Royalty? Kobayashi is huge in Japan and loved. Taxes not. Japan has universal health care. Take a trip.
