    I hear you Steajbellie , my last Kystal contest i flew out to Knoxville ( and boy were my arms tired) During the contest my judge was putting full boxes on my tray from the next contestant to my right , I motioned him to stop while the contests was in progress, the way the winner was announced by holding both 2nd and 1st place hands by the Mc , I thought I had it won , until they held up the other contestant hands. I didn’t want to inbarace the sponsor at the time and didn’t make a scene

    Damn it your right Eric! Maybe if changed my name to SteakBello I would have had a better chance. Wrong. If the numbers stay this close that there is a tie for 2nd,they should give up the 12th “fan” spot. I don’t think that’s fair to begin with. I can see if they had 12 spots as usual and than add the fan spot for S&Gs, but for the “fan” to get a spot that an eater deserves and get money seems a little unfair. Not that I feel like I would have that spot. I’m sure this he been a topic of discussion before. I hope they give Steakbellie his last krystal. Humble Bob is not of the human species, the last seconds of the contest was quite a site to see.

    What will happen if there’s a tie for the second WC? I’m guessing the edge will go to whomever competed in more than one qualifier. Can eaters compete in more than one qualifier?

    Deciding a tie by who did the most qualifiers would be quite unfair since many who wanted to do two qualifiers weren’t accepted to both, so it was by no fault of their own if someone did more qualifiers than them.

    I think the only reasonable way to decide would be a series of athletic events, much like at the end of Revenge of the nerds (drunken go carts, burping contest, etc). Then afterwards everyone in the audience can realize that inside, we’re all nerds. But I’m just spitballing here.

    Hasn’t the Nathan’s contest used the multiple qualifier rule to break wild card ties in the past? Maybe not. I agree that’s it’s not entirely fair though. It seems like the best way to decide a wild card tie is to award it to the eater with the higher rank. Or award it the eater who wears a kilt.

    It sounds like you all are just assuming that steakbellie deserves the spot….maybe it should go to the younger eater and not the old man. He has had his time to shine, let the new guys go for the glory. No insult intended but basically any way you look at it, someone is going to get screwed unless both of us (yes, I am the other Erik) get a spot and the fan spot should get tossed out. And I also grew up in the Philly area so I can’t hate on steakbellie for living in the best place in the US.!!! E-A-G-L-E-S..EAGLES!!!!!

    Steakbellie an old man! He has been with the IFOCE for about 4 years and has put in his time. If anybody deserves a spot, it is him. Just like Wing Kong in Nathans. Of course he won’t want it unless he earns it. Sad to say that neither of you will end up at Krystals anyhow with a few more qualifiers left but if your number was good, you would have a beef with the MLE & Krystals for pulling back one wc spot just recently. THAT IS BS.

    Best of luck with your future anyway Unger. Work harder and good things may come your come.

    If the tie is between 2 kilts, it should go to the eater with the (no pun intended) balls enough to really wear the proper under attire. NOTHING! Hey Bellie, wacha got under the skirt?

    Hunger I am way impressed with your innagrual Krystal run. We should enjoy this week of having our names on the WC board, because next weekend we will likely get schooled by more than one Eater. Certainly both of us would rather get in on our Merits, but I probably would take the opportunity if it was offered.

    I go Scottish underneath when I wear the real Kilt, but not always when I where my Competition Kilt. I’m investing in a Utila-Kilt this Winter and will do the right thing from then on.

    I’m willing to compete entirely naked if it meant I could eat more. Maybe because I dont care that means I really am the old man?

    Steakbellie… you are no old man, my apologies for being rude and i meant ABSOLUTELY no disrespect…i was merely making the point that other than eating, any other way to pick who goes to the final table is arbitrary. My buddy Reganato and I are driving up to knoxville this weekend for the last qualifier to try and improve on our numbers

    I always look at it as honor to eat at the same table as the greats like Badlands, Janus X, Conti and Steakbellie…..and as a martial artists I do understand that senority counts for a great deal.

    By the way….I too would be willing to eat naked if it meant putting down more krystals

    My thoughts on Steakbellie competing naked:

    If Steakbellie competes naked, we can finally find the answer to the age old question, “Where does Steakbellie put all of that food?”
    This could give the old “hollow leg” statement a whole new meaning!

    No offense taken, I always enjoy alittle ribbing and can dish it out too. Good luck at Knox, I regret that I have to work this weekend and cant compete head to head with you, that would have been a good time. You should give the naked eating a try, and let me know if its an improvement!
