Major League Eating DVDs

(From Erik Denmark) A DVD titled “Major League Eaters Vol. 1”, apparently an official MLE product, is available on netflix. Netflix appears to be the only location with information about the DVD.

In another DVD starring a Major League Eater, DVD Talk has a review of “Zen and the Art of Competitive Eating”, which has the following description of the star, Crazy Legs Conti:

Conti is an interesting character. He sort of floats through life by taking these different jobs here and there to pay the bills but shows no real dedication to his employment at any given time. In fact, it’s almost as if whatever particular jobs he’s working at any particular time is little more than a joke to him. The only things in life that he seems to take seriously are the eating contests. This, obviously, sets him apart from your average American, most of who tend to be very job focused and career minded in this day and age.

That assertion about Crazy Legs after is way off base and the writer does not know him at all. I’ve never met the guy but I’m a pretty damn good judge of people after minimal exposure, if I may say so myself.

According to my ratings on Netflix they think I have no interest in eating movies. I just find that funny

You are right, Rhonda. That author is way off. Conti takes his nude modeling and window washing very seriously. Or were you talking about what he said about Conti’s dedication to eating? What were your feelings after watching the documentary?

I was talking about from the second sentence on Carey. I liked the documentary overall, not initially, but it got better as it went along.

Carey, you’ll love my new lecture series on the joys of being mediocre.

Hi Philly Guy. Which food group would you say movies falls into? 🙂

For what it’s worth, you have a very refreshing attitude and a wonderful sense of humor. You are a true asset to CE … I agree with BB on that one.

Ha! I didn’t see that one, Rhonda. Pete, take the movies out of your mouth. Take em….Put it in the envelope Pete, good boy.
By the way, still no eating based movies or documentaries on Blockbuster.com as of yet.

I just had a chance to watch Major League Eating, Vol. 1. I’d highly recommend it. There’s lots of coverage of some of the retired eaters, including Carlene and Badlands. This surprised me a little bit for a DVD with a 2007 copyright, but it was welcome.
