we met up with my sister and her family at Chunkys Burgers for the Horseman Challenge that was featured on Man VS Food just to be disappointed. There was no seating and a long wait for food. There was a sign outside saying they were not have the horseman challenge. But we desided to still wait and order. Once it was finally our turn to order we were told they were completly out of peppers. WHAT!!!!! So you watch them on Man VS Food with there whole gimic is to eat spicy burgers and they have no peppers. Was I mad, I stopped my hubby from ordering and we left I was not going to spend 9.99 on a burger and that does not include fries or drink to stand and eat it.

Mari,
First let me apolgize. Customer Satisfaction is very important to Chunky’s.
Chunky’s is run and owned by my uncle Joe/Joey. My family has been in the business of small restaurants for a long time. It’s honestly a lot more work than what appears at the surface. You may be in the restaurant industry and well aware of this. My uncle started Chunky’s in 2004 and had been doing well. It slowly grew and through the purchase of my uncles Nissan 350z(a sacrifice for him) I might say I funded the patio roof expansion about 3 years ago. I’m not exactly sure when my uncle added the Four Horseman challenge(maybe just about 1 year ago) but it surely caught a lot of attention with the airing of Man vs Food. Nonetheless, my uncle has been successful for much more than just the Four Horseman, so please don’t discredit his restaurant. Joey has worked very hard to keep it open since mid 2004. It’s been a rough road for our family, only a few months into the start of the restaurant I lost my grandfather, father to Joey and my mother. No doubt this was very hard on all of us and most especially my grandmother who has always stood by Joey.
My cute grandmother is on film screaming “You can do it, You can do it” during Adams fight with the Four Horseman.
We are very grateful for the publicity that Man vs Food has brought and do strive to make every customer happy and full. After all, the restaurant is nothing without customers. I will make sure my uncle is aware of your feedback. It has been hard to keep the line and wait down as there isn’t a lot of room to expand without a considerable investment.
My uncle Joey truly is a great guy and surely doing his best. I hope that you may give Chunky’s a second chance.
