    Is the travel channel paying you off to promote them and richman? Nobody cares . If someone wants to watch it let them go to the travel channel website to get the information. I think you get off on making people angry. Maybe more eaters should play you for a fool and disguise themselves as helen haggerty so you can shut down your site like you did a few years ago.

    eatfeats.com = things about eating
    man v food = show about eating
    man v food is a logical topic for this site.

    “If someone wants to watch it let them go to the travel channel website to get the information”. Yes. Freedom. Just like if you do not want to read a post about man v food, then don’t. Idiot.

    I think the reason there isn’t a competitive eater as the host of Man vs Food is that at least half of you are petty little shitheads based on the posts here. Grow up. If that guy is dumb enough to cram that mu crap is pie hole then who cares if he meets your criteria? I’d like to see your pansy @$$ choke down some of that habenero crap he has been eating lately … Sister Mary Tinkle Pants.

    You also fail to realize that jackass is getting paid to face an early death. By the time he reaches the age of 50 if he is lucky enough to do so, all his arteries will be clogged to the point where quadruple bypass wont even help him. He will end up needing a heart transplant if they could find one for him. Yeah the food looks yummy but wake up and smell the coffee

    So what are you saying about the rest of CE competitors? We are all gonna die before 50? Just a bunch of hate slinging on here as usual. Does anyone realize that the show keeps CE in the spotlight in a round about way? Not much but a bunch of shallow minded asses on here.

    The reason why there isn’t a Competitive Eater on the show as thehost is very simple… its who you know not what you know, the casting call was bogus.

    Not all competitive eaters will die before they hit 50 but the odds of richmans chances for survival are decreased because he has a certain amount of shows in which he is required to eat more frequently than a competitive eater who competes only once in awhile

    They would’ve taken a CE person if any of the ones who tried out were worth a crap. Unfortunately, the only ones who could hold their own on this show didn’t show for the casting call.

    The CE people who actually made an attempt at getting on the show were either boring, awkward, or literally stupid.

    I’m sick of hearing him say he’s not a competitive eater in every interview he does, but he has a point. . .a television audience cares more about personality and charisma than actual eating skill. Adam is a quite competent eater, way above the average person, and that is good enough. And the spicy challenges he does are actually pretty impressive. More importantly, he is a likable “everyman”, though maybe a little too awww shucks cutesy (i.e. he doesn’t have much of an edge like Anthony Bourdain or something). I think if a real competitive eater was doing this, they’d take it way too seriously, and it would make the audience likely uncomfortable and they couldn’t really identify with it. Obviously they picked it up for a second season, so he has something that people like!

    I went on the casting call so did Badlands and a few others. Some had experience behind the mic doing college football games. Some that applied were college athletes . None of them were picked. Something about adam personality that they liked I think they wanted someone other than a competitive eater to fill the spot but didnt want to discourage competitive eaters from applying because they might find someone with eating experience to stilll fit the role. It could be a number of things. You know how these casting calls go. They tell you how great you are smile in your face and then tell their boss “this guy or gal sucked” .If they really liked you the production manager will be called in almost immediately after the interview . Thats showbiz

    Quite often it’s who you know, just as DML said.

    Having said that, however, like the gentleman above me stated, Adam must have had something going for him that the executives liked. The show does seem fairly entertaining, and it is still filming, so the guy does SOMETHING right.

    My father taught me that when it comes to getting a job or promotion or raise,the friend or relative gets first crack than the company spy, you know the creep that calls the boss up after work at his home and tells who’s doing what at work and 3rd the kiss ass, I’m sure that Adam Richman falls into one of these categories, It makes no sense whatsoever to pick an unknown non Competitive Eater from the vast pool thats out there of Competitive eaters .end
