Dave “Megamunch” Shoffner has added an online comic about an office worker venturing into the world of competitive eating. This website is the topic of the current strip.

    Hi Juliet! Congratulations on your going to the Tropicana for the meatball tournament. I know you can eat a lot, but don’t let yourself be disappointed if you don’t do as well as you would like. Anyway, it’s great to have additional females come on board. Best of luck!

    How come nobody talks about the topic of this blog?? MegaMunch, you beat me to the punch…nice job on the first three strips, the second one reminds me of how I tortured people at work about my “hobby”!!

    It will give me great pleasure to bury some of these people In meatballs that are ranked ahead of me that never faced nor never beat anyone worthy of getting ranked to begin with. I will say that some of these overrated eaters are finally in their proper place. Why is Boone ranked period? Boone is still a speed eater because he put back all of his old weight just as fast as he lost it. Why dont they just get it over with and rank myself and Kevin 49& 50 . If you want me to name names all the eaters ranked from 29-40 have never beaten me yesterday today or tommorow. Kevin Carr should be ranked ahead of me and all the others that are ranked ahead of him. The biggest travesty is Jim Reeves at 28????? . Quite obvious these rankings are put together just to get a rise out of people .

    Hey Seiken, I’m thinking maybe just maybe Boone is ranked because he won some rib contest, did well at a Nathans qualifier, and QUALIFIED for Krystals. And he is kind of a media draw and a favorite of the Sheas who probably have a little say in the rankings.

    I dont want to bitch about the rankings because they are quite subjective once you look out of the top 10 or so, but why is Juliet Lee ranked? She did win an amatuer contest but has not been in any other contests but this amatuer contest.

    Brian I’ll be rooting for you in meatballs. I think what hurt you is probably a lack of participation the last few months. These rankings appear to only take a snapshot from August through October. I’d like to see you, Pat Philbin, Buffalo Jim, Big Brian and others make the IFOCE do a double take, so that they have to change rankings again in February.

    Also, by then, both Sonya AND Pat might give Joey a run for his money in several contests (could be an understatement). I can see it happening, and I would love it as much as I do my little personal battery-operated device!!

    I intend to put up good numbers in meatballs . My total of 3.3lb last year was miserable compared to todays standards. Its very hard hanging with these new kids because they are exceptionally good. i agree with you Rhonda ive been preoccupied with media and producing new tv material that i forgot what got me here in the first place and thats sitting at the table and competing .

    I– Juliet got her ranking because she ate more than most of the professionals at the Three Brothers Pizza.

    Anyways, she sure deserves it now! She got SEVENTH place (eating 5.53 lbs [!!!!]) at the Meatballs competition, believe it or not
