Minimal online promotion for “Wedges & Wings”
With three days until airtime, there is no mention of the “Wedges & Wings” program on any of the IFOCE/MLE websites. The special does not appear on the list of Spike TV programs either. In the Spike TV schedule grid, there is no program description whatsoever. A screen capture of the grid is available after the jump.

The crowd at the live show adversely reacted when told that certain eaters were not included in the program, sending the producers scrambling with fear of low ratings in their heads…..
All shows have to be re-edited, with eater images imposed on the screen, using footage from past Nathan’s Hot dog contests, “The Science of Speed Eating”, home movies from the Philbin, Subich, Shimayaadabadoo, Keeler, Barlow, McNeil, Bubbster, Davenkos, and Seiken households, along with courtroom sketches, and caricatures to make it seem like the missing eaters were really there. Crazy Leg’s voice was re-dubbed with new dialogue thrown in, mentioning the handsomeness, and abilities of said originally missing eaters.
In addition, El Toro’s re-touched hair will now resemble Jimmy Neutron’s to capture the younger viewers. The Coonskinhead character will be played by a whoopee cushion attached to a skunk.

They really wait until the eleventh hour to advertise it. Why?
Anyway, I’ll read about the results on eatfeats.

Spike TV think it’s not only a joke, but they don’t know how to handle the joke. Why air the “stupid” thing at all if they feel that way. The time slot alone shows how apprehensive they are about showing it. If it bombs, which is a real possibility, some folks will likely be fired over it.
