update May 27 Molly Schuyler has a video and facebook gallery

Fox Sports, the Daily Mail and NBC Dallas Fort Worth have articles

The Big Texan reports that Molly Schuyler finished the 72 ounce steak challenge meal in 4:58, almost half the time of Joey Chestnut’s previous record. After finishing her first challenge meal,  she ate another challenge in 9:59. This makes the new all time wall of fame top 4 (Amarillo.com article)

  1. Molly Schuyler 4:58 2014
  2. Joey Chestnut 8:52 2008
  3. Frank Pastore 9:30 (Cincinnati Reds pitcher) 1987
  4. Molly Schulyer 9:59 2014 (attempt #2)

Molly Schuyler is the 3rd person to finish two 72 Big Texan steaks in one session. Pro wrestler Klondike Bill ate two in 1966 and Rich LeFevre consumed 144 ounces of steak on the Donnie and Marie Osmond show in 2000.

I think Carlene LeFevre had the previous women’s Big Texan record at 30 minutes, 6 times longer than Molly Schuyler’s duration. As far as I know, no women have done the challenge in 10:00  – 29:59.

update May 27 Here is the updated list for fastest female finishing times for 72+ ounce steaks. Molly Schuyler has at least five attempts under 10 minutes. I am not aware of any other women finishing in under 20 minutes.

Molly is incredible! Carlene and Rich LeFevre are known for the long duration contests. Hard to compare results now with results from when eating wasn’t a challenge the way it is today. Would be great though it you could have people enjoy these challenges while eating together as friends.

Nice job she ripped into that shit like a pitbull attacking human flesh. She might tear someone eyes out in a fistfight if she gets mad enough

Is Molly the best female eater ever? Why doesn’t she enter Nathan’s, where she would surely dominate?

I guess 1133 is unaware that was Carlene’s first serious competition in nearly nine years. She didn’t even know she was going to be in the contest until Kid Cary talked Rich into letting her compete. She came in completely cold and handily beat Mary Bowers. What more is there to say? Oh yeah, how about the fact that she finished seventh at Coney three years in a row (2003-2005) and beat, among others, Dale Boone, Bob Shoudt and Hall Hunt in the Atlanta qualifier in 2005. Not bad for someone who has never trained for any of the events she has competed in.

Some people need bigger history lessons than are available through basic win loss stats and numbers. Molly is something big, but everything cannot be compared easily. Read lots, make opinions but….

Molly absolutely made the right decision by not signing the MLE contract.

First, she’s not owned like a piece of property. She maintains her independence, free to competitively eat when and where she desires.

Second, in 2014 she has earned more than double the money of any MLEer, save Joey, and she has out-earned him by $9,300. (Of course, that doesn’t include Joey’s appearance fees and other benefits.)

Right now Molly sits in the ultimate sweet spot of competitive eating.

    Good for you, Molly!

9:39, I hear what you’re saying. Some may need history lessons. Others just want to stir the pot.

Rich, Carlene’s rep speaks for itself.

1:57, I read what you wrote, and it appears quite funny, in more ways than one. I do agree with your last three words, however. Well done Molly!

Always Good Stuff from that Badlands Booker!

Also, I’m awaiting Judas Priest’s new compilation to hit the stores—-July 15 in the US, July 14 in the UK. It’s called “Redeemer of Souls.”

As they would say, “Fawty Years of Heavy Fuckin’ Metal!”

Love that Richie Faulkner! Rock Hard Ride Free! #RHRF!

    Okay, back to CE.

I am rarely impressed by her. If you look at the records of half the challenges she’s “breaking records” for the guidelines have changed. Most of these places made us use a fork and knife. In level playing field. Besides, we all know no one can ever beat Chestnut.
