    The 5k was for anyone that beat her and the record at once. They said you have to actually have a face off to get the money. You can’t just walk in.

    Their might be something in the MLE contract stating that MLE members are prohibited from associating with independent eaters or former MLE members but sure if it was enforced. Back in 2006 Pat Philbin was thrown out of MLE for taking part in an egg nog drinking contest on the Opie and Anthony show but rumor has it he was thrown out for having a girlfriend

    Miki Sudo joined MLE in 2013. Sonya Thomas quit after the 2018 Nathan’s finals.

    Thats now what i meant OJ Sonya quit because she couldnt beat Sudo and for that reason she didnt want to damage her legacy any further . She threw up at Nathan finals and never returned after

    Mollie never joined Mle because her kids were small and goid friends with Sudo. Her kids are older known and Sudo doesn’t seem to connect with mollie anymore. Clash of the titans?

    Sonya Thomas would have quit, regardless of who did or didn’t come along. She had been competing since 2003, and she won more than a few contests along the way. She slowed down her last several years, which is what 50 year olds do. I suspect she wants to live a little while longer.

    It’s silly that they even have a competitive eating contract in the first place. It’s not really a league that the general public cares about other than the Nathan’s 4th of July contest, so why not just let Molly compete for that one event? It would add hype and notoriety more than any other year to tout Molly as a true rival to Chestnut.

    For 2 reasons one being Pete would take the exposure away from him during the pre chestnut era and the other reason being that it would become the Furious Pete show endorsements etc . At the time Pete was getting tons of offers from various sponsors and who to say if he signed with MLE that he would stay loyal and faithful to the contract ?

    1251 that is not how they operate. If you win a qualifier to advance to the finals you are required to become their piece of property for what is it now 2yrs? You dont necessarily have to compete in the circuit but if they find out you competed in an event not sanctioned by MLE the contract becomes null and void and you cannot compete in Nathans ever again. I know in the past they prohibited restaurant challenges because the sponsor was getting publicity from it instead of MLE but i think it might have changed Not sure

    Why would Sudo cry if Molly joined? You cant get freebies all your life and expect a guaranteed check for 10k every time you hit the stage on the 4th of July. She has never given any indication that she was jealous of other eaters in the organization. If anything it would push her to work even harder

    Yes she does expect GTD check because thes the only female eater who can eat more than 40 hot dogs and nobody is catching her anytime soon . . Cut out the womans contest and those days will be over when they are forced to eat with the men at the Nathans table like the old days. Matter fact the woman contest is a joke. Wake up and smell the coffee those qualifiers where a woman can eat 8 dogs and win while at the same time the guy next to her is busting his ass with 30 and cant even get in . Then they present the 8 dog winner with a cheap $5 trophy and shes in heaven. Outrage and disgrace if you ask me

    The lamest thing about Sudo is how many people consider her to be this amazing female eater solely by her presence at Nathan’s. If they actually cared about competive eating enough to look up other contests they’d see that Molly completely blows her out of the water.
