You can have 100 videos ,it dont matter ..CLC clearly cheated, he knows he cheated, and he got away with it..What was done..NOTHING..He is the personality..The judges saw what he did, the people saw what he did, the eaters saw what he did and NOTHING WAS DONE..he clearly ate after the contest was over and NOTHING WAS DONE..The problem was what he did was so outragious that everyone was in shock.. CLC , Every one saw what you did,do you think you will not be watched by fans and eaters..Was it worth it ?

you know what is so crazy about this mess? CLC gets battered and bruised with these cheating remarks and nobody bothers coming to his defense out of fear . But as soon as BB says something about his celebrity status which has nothing to do with the cheating aspect, some idiot changes the entire subject painting BB as a two faced putz that prints negative stuff about people on his website. Well you know what? there are more two facers beside him in MLE than meets the eye. They have maybe 3 or 4 faces if you ask me

I watched the “CHEW CAM” on ESPN during the Nathans contest. was that Crazy legs cups they looked at. The hair looked like dread locks and we know Shoudt, Chestnut and Bertoletti do not have dreadlocks.

I say this because I taped the event and the video the second time the “CHEW CAM” was shown looks very much like one or more of the cups contain large pieces of bun. And if there are buns floating, how many hot dog pieces are sitting in the bottom of the cups?

I bet no one was deducted even one half a dog for all that debris.

Was it not just last year we were here talking about a reversal of fortune. Some of the product ended up on the table and some on the floor. But since the person covered their mouth and shoved some of theirvomit back in, no points were taken away. I think that was Chestnut. If you look back in the history here, I think you can find that discussion and even the video.

I say this because the top ten can cheat and cheat and cheat. The Sheas make money on them so they must be loking at their wallet getting fatter and they miss the repeated cheating that we others see.

All that mattered was making it to Coney Island. Give it a little while and no one will care what he did.

If you’ve eaten in a hot dog contest that allows dunking and you dunk aggressively, it’s a 100 percent certainty that bits — or even chunks — of bun will end up in your dunking water. It’s unavoidable and it happens to every eater at the table, so the 1/2 bun or even whole bun (cumulatively) in everyone’s cups at the end of the contest all cancel each other out.

Are we back on that again? This is old. Even the 100+ degree, record-setting weather in the east is a more interesting subject.

I agree with both Mega and NP.

I think CLC should be reminded as often as possible for what he did, he essentially robbed Adrian of an opportunity he may never get again, something CLC has experienced 8 times before this year. Not to mention the prize money Adrian could have won at Nathan’s.

Rhonda, it’s obvious you’re CLC fan, and I actually enjoy reading some of your posts, but even you would have to admit what CLC did was flat out wrong.

Would everyone be happier if Nathan’s contests did not allow dunking? That looks like a possible way of resolving this problem of “chunking and dropping” the contest food the water cups.

** correction, into the water cups.

You know my opinion: ban dunking in all contests. That would:

    1) make them easier to judge,
    2) make it easier to count results,
    3) reduce sloppiness,
    4) make the contests less gross to watch,
    5) offer less enticement for eaters to be “creative,” in eating,
    6) more readily reveal eaters with the best eating talent,
    7) and last, but not least, we’d have fewer threads like this one on eatfeats.

    🙂

Rhonda, it’s real simple. The people that make big messes in wet contests also make big messes in dry contest. The only difference is that the mess is wet in a wet contest. The answer is in really big penalties or as Ross suggested DQs. Nothing else will stop it.
