Crain's New York Business reported last month that Nathan's Famous lost a breach of contract lawsuit with its former hot dog supplier and has been required to pay damages of $4.9 million. The award represents almost 2/3 of the company's annual profit and has been appealed to the Illinois Supreme Court.
