    As I said in a previous comment and on my page, don’t count on seeing Koby’s buzzer reversal in these repeat airings of the contest. ESPN has edited out the “barf seen ’round the world.”

    From a reliable source and this is no joke. The envelopes of cash handed out to each eater during the weigh in had different amounts for different people. In other words some got more cash than others some got less cash than others . It was assumed everyone was supposed to have recieved the same amount of $200.

    This is insane. Certain eaters get stuffed envelopes of cash and others get shit? Can you imagine if Don Lerman was competing in Nathans and someone recieved more money than he did and he caught wind to this? My lord there would a ferver the likes you have never seen before except for sharks feeding time at the zoo

    The money you received at the weigh in was more than likely your ‘per diem’. An amount to hold you over in the big city. Pay for meals & other minor essentials. Some people came from far away & were there for days, so their per diem was more than a Moonachie who lives in Jersey & was likely there no earlier than the 3rd or a Crazylegs/Janus who is at home. In the past, Cookie & I have gotten our own hotel rooms because I won Rye which is 15 minutes from the city & Cookie’s pretty close in LI.

    There are MANY things to get on the Shea’s if you like. This is NOT one of them

    The difference must be like GJoe says…travel expenses related. If it were any other reason (the IFOCE “likes” a certain eater more than others), why would they give them that money in an envelope right in front of everyone and run the risk that it would become known? It seems like if they were going to reward an eater in that fashion, George or Rich or Kate would discretely give them an envelope at a later date/time.
