KrispyKremeChallenge.com reports that this year’s edition of that event will be held on January 26 at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. The contest entails running two miles from NC State to a Krispy Kreme, eating a dozen donuts there, and then returning to the start. Last year’s contest had 1387 registrants, which is probably the largest field for an eating contest in the world.

Its a great event! I helped organize the KKC in 2006 and 2007 and was very glad to see it mentioned here! Best of luck to all who participate. I was only able to get 9 doughnuts my first year running, but got all 12 and finished in 58:11 last year!
