New Poll: 2008 Nathan’s purse

The new poll asks what you believe the sum of the prizes for the upcoming Nathan’s finals will be. Last year’s purse was $20,000.

    congrats on those first three posts – but, I think it will stay the same – the only inflation will be in the eater’s stomachs.

    I think they’ll go back to 60 lbs of Coney dogs.

    Espn doing it? Heinz as a sponsor? Tradition. More moolah in the Shea/Baer’s pockets!

    W/out the $$$ they get rid of Joey/Kobe, maybe Bertoletti & then they’ll have Janus win who’s content w/free food.

    Joey and Pat dont need the other current eaters taking up space at their table. All the rest are a complete laughing stock. Nathans should just be a two person shpw and the others can watch fireworks on the fourth and stop wasting everybody’s time. The girls can cook them a damned turkey dinner or something. That is if they can cook better than they eat.

    Ed, Koby has already maximized his capacity for hot dogs, as we all saw last year, and it is probably much the same for Krystals. Koby has a much smaller torso frame than the much larger Joey, which restricts stomach expansion. After watching last year’s event, I am certain it is physically impossible for Koby to eat more hot dogs in 12 minutes than Joey.

    All things being equal, when two guys both learn to eat to their absolute belly fat-unrestricted capacity, the larger / taller person will win. Joey has trained himself to be such a great hot dog eater that Koby has no chance whatsoever.

    Koby’s a smart guy, and I hope he’s smart enough to realize what I’m saying. Since the world rankings are solely determined by Nathan’s and Krystals–by money (say what you will but those two events drive the rankings exclusively), Koby has no chance to regain his # 1 world ranking.

    I believe we have already seen the last U.S.competition in which Koby will compete. Or, at least the next to last one.

    Doughboy, things are much more even, and I now FULLY EXPECT Koby to compete, because he has a fair chance to win. Read my earlier entries from this AM.
