    The Miki v. Sonya showdown is probably the most highly anticipated event in competitive eating this year! And, with Michelle Lesco’s numbers on the rise, she could upset Juliet. No offense to the guys, stonie v Janus might be interesting, but first is spoken for, as it has been for years. The women’s event should be on tv!

    The Sonya vs Miki matchup is much more intriguing then the men’s division. This is sure to be a battle to the last bite whereas Joey has the mens division locked up.

    These new women are no joke. It’s a shame they won’t get the attention they deserve on the Telecast (ESPN this year?) since MLE does the “women’s contest” and “men’s contest” thing now.

    Not so sure about most people wanting Miki to win. The best eater should win always. What is on tv is not going to be changed based upon the contestants. Anyone who thinks that is really naive.

    No woman can come within 20 dogs of Chestnut. That is why the women will not be and should not be televised. Their contest is like a littly kiddie carnival ride compared to the men’s event. Real comp. eating fans might as well use the bathroom or start a conversation about the weather or watch paint dry while the ladies casually eat. I mean like who cares man. Without the men you have no comp. eating. I’d rather hear Seiken sing.

    Get rid of the women’s division. No sense having a separate event one time per year only. So stupid. People are people period. Why give women who can’t even eat 15 opportunities to be at the finals over men who can eat 25? Foul. Foul. Foul. Better yet, if the women want to be present on July 4 let them all be bunnettes for the men. Nuff said!

    I am not sure but i think if women eat less than 10 hot dogs Nathans will not pay their airfare and hotel. Its like go on your own dime if you want. If they do pay their way with 10 or more thats a huge gift they probably don’t deserve. 20 or more should be the requirement for an all inclusive and a little pocket money to boot. Not taking away from the rest of the womans field but i think they pay only 4 spots right? Sonya Miki Juliet & Michelle have those spots covered so i dont see the point in the rest of the women competing unless they like Coney Island. ESPN still wont pick up the event on television. Live streaming on the net is a joke i think everyone is aware of that.

    317 they refuse to let Seiken sing unless he pulls a Kobayashi and jumps the stage.I am sure if Seiken was insistent, they might let him perform a song or two but honestly whats the point? It actually would be hilarious to watch Seiken get handcuffed dressed as Elvis . For some reason beyond belief, the Sheas think Badlands Booker rap is right there with Mozart symphony 24. .Most of you that dont know jack about music consider the rap stuff ingenious because you never took the time to listen to anything else . No doubt Booker is talented but can anyone understand a word he’s saying? It’s like back in the old old days when famous rock bands would take the stage , people be cheering but you couldnt hear them, due to poor sound stage equipment. The professional bands that take the stage in Coney prior to the Nathans contest are getting paid big bucks to entertain. Is Booker getting his just due which he should after all these years or is it all about personal exposure?

    Hey women haters — If you go back to only having one contest, Sonya, Miki, Michele and Juliet, take spots away from men. In fact Sonya, and possibly Miki, are in the money against men, and when they compete in their separate contest give two male eaters a chance to win cash. So, all you idiots who on one side of your mouth complain that MLE should spread more money around, then on the other side of your mouth complain there should be no woman’s contests are hypocritical. So what is it guys, five men in the money or 10 men and women in the money? You guys who are arguing against women have obviously have never be in top five, so you don’t even know what you’re talking about. This is proved by they guy who posted that he doesn’t know how payments are made to the eaters for travel, etc., but goes on to bless us with his vast thoughts on how payments should work. If you don’t know what your talking about, no one wants to hear your ignorant opinion.

Hey after your all male eating contest, maybe you and guys can out dancing together to celebrate. What’s wrong with that? As they say, you were born that way. I’m just proud of you that you finally are comfortable to say you want to see men, and men only. That’s a very big step towards your new lifestyle.     10:44 am, Badlands is the shizz, the all around great guy. What is so hard to understand about All Day Buffet? Who else welcomes so many eaters to participate with him? Doesn’t matter how much or how little he eats in contests, he represents CE perfectly. Has for a very long time. Look it up.

    The women want there own division.Only three can eat, we have a female version of legs that will stuff her bra ( she goes up 2 cup sizes ), So do you realy think they deserve to have there own contest.? Worthless to watch except for Miki and Sonya..

    8:35, that is the question of the day. I think Sonya might be able to squeeze out one more HDB. I think Miki could do another four or five, which would put her just about even with Sonya. I only know that as far as I’m concerned, even though only one of them can come out on top, both of them have extradordinary talent.

    A woman WILL come along and eat more HDBs than Sonya. I have no doubt. It may this year, and if that’s the case, it will probably be Miki, who’s total will be eclipsed by another woman in a few years, and so on, and so on.

    Regardless, for Sonya Thomas to be among the top half dozen best competitive eaters in the world, regardless of affiliation, gender, or size, for 10 years running, is more than just merely impressive.

    Sonya is a living legend, whom I place on the ladder of competitive eating greatness just one rung below Takeru Kobayashi, whom I still regard as the greatest competitive eater who ever separated a dog from a bun.

    Miki’s 40 at the qualifier was already great but no one maxxes out at their debut number…. Gotta remember shes brand new. Matt stonie put up a respectable number his first time, but he still improved. Joey improved by 20 in a year. Would love to see you bet on both miki and Sonya’s numbers going down

    Miki will set a new world record with 70. Sonya will eat 45, politely shake Miki’s hand and announce her retirement in a private conversation with George Shea. Joey will win the men’s division with 65, display that stupid ass grin (like in ribs) in a photo with Miki. And join Sonya in retirement. Bob Shoudt will finally get fed up with Seiken when bb tries to record Bob’s facial expression after his worst performance in years, and knock Seiken on his ass. Janus will then shake Bob’s hand for punching out Seiken. Seiken will retaliate by announcing his break up with Shoudt, citing Bob’s awful behavior. Seiken will go into a 500 word tirade on his website about how he is so underappreciated, and for the 10th time in as many years, threaten to pull the plug on his website.
