    I miss the Krystal Square Off. Any word on if they’ll ever bring it back?

    Krystal Square off was sold to another company, if I remember correctly, and even if not, they decided that their advertising campaign was better served by not doing Krystal Square off. The answer is almost surely no. It was a great event while they had it, on to the new.

    I miss the KSO too. Once Krystal eliminated dunking, I took that particular contest as the best single indicator of CE excellence—-two substances, bun and burger, eaten in an unaided fashion.

    Of the contests OJ has listed, I have to go with Buffalo wings and Acme oysters, each of which is a longstanding, well recognized CE event, representing distinct food groups—-not sandwiches, if you will.

    MLE also needs pasta and vegetable representation, other than corn, which is very, very subjective. (Even I could win that one.)

    I don’t think there is a second-best contest. None of the choices you listed has the feel of a major. You’re really reaching with this poll question.

    Interesting that of all the “regular” contests (ones held annually in each of the last three years), none are dessert-based. Where have all the pie eating contests gone?!
