The new poll asks what type of handicap in competitive eating is most justified. Some commenters have requested a bonus for older competitors.

Instead of applying handicaps, how about having fair contests and DQ-ing unprofessional, sloppy eaters?

Currently, CE resembles poker more than it does a sport. The object is to learn how to best give the appearance of having eaten the most food, or at least it might as well be. The players/eaters aren’t bluffing each other, their slight-of-hand intention is to fool the judges.

Several of the eaters have that down to a science, and that’s not too difficult with apathetic, irresponsible judges whose vision becomes impaired at will.

Better yet , legends such as Don Lerman, Krazy Kevin, Paul Barlow Butifulbrian should get all expense paid trips to contests.

Should I be surprised that majorleagueeating.com now redirects to ifoce.com? Guess MLE’s not working out so good.

Do the Sheas run their other businesses the way they run the IFOCE?

    You’re such a negative nelly, A-Bomb.

Speaking of failures, did the IFOCEMLE update the post-Nathans rankings yet or did I miss that?

Takes too much time to do rankings. Don’t expect anything until after Krystals when things slow down.

I am surprised they haven’t ejected Larry McNeil from the top 50 after he joined WLOCE.

I hope you’re being sarcastic Anon704. It might take two hours to do rankings. Three if they put a little extra thought into it. That’s a drop in the bucket compared to how much time most of the eaters give to the Sheas and the IFOCE.

Is getting arrested for drunk driving after causing an accident a handicap? Sounds like someone consumption-ed a little too much last week.

Mega Munch, it takes a lot less than three hours to throw darts to get the rankings for #11-50 done.
