The new poll asks what type of team eating contest you would most like to see.

    I’m atleast partly, in it for the $$$

    & local charity league isn’t fair. AA to AAA would be fair.

    Then again, after the top ten or so, w/in the ifoce is AA to AAA.

    Menchetti is like the Bob Foster of competitive eating. Foster was probobly the greatest light heavyweight fighter of all time maybe Mike Spinks as runnerup.He could actually cut your skin with a twist of his hand . He dominated the entire division until he tried moving up to heavyweight and got rocked and destroyed by Frazier and Ali. Same would happen to Menchetti if he went against the top 8 in the IFOCE. Miller , Rios and Minh would even give him a rough time and they havent even moved up to their rightful spots as of yet.

    Gent. Joe, I wasn’t including you in the AICE. You ARE in it for the money, and make more than other AICE members I was referring to. But since you placed yourself in that category, so be it.

    It goes deeper than what you make it out to be — the disparity of quality between IFOCE and AICE. For example, I believe you were ranked # 6 in the world before you went independent. Since then, you have been the top independent eater. Ian is close to you, but you’re still the best. That’s not because you keep improving, it’s because the talent potential of the AICE eaters is way, way behind the IFOCE.

    I wouldn’t even say they’re “up-and-comin,” I’d say that talent-wise, they’re there and staying.”

    Therefore, I’m confident GJoe that you will continue to reign as champion independent eater for the forseeable future. Who do you have to worry about knocking you off that perch? No one!

    Look at Pat Bertoletti. He was ranked near the bottom of the top 50 a year or so ago, but he has climbed up to the number 2 spot in the US.and now consistently challenges or beats many of the top-ranked IFOCE eaters. Look how other IFOCE eaters have improved / are still improving — Janus, Simpson, Chestnut, Shoudt, Sonya, etc, etc. And they are still improving! (Not to mention Rios or Miller.)

    So even as we take a snapshot of the rankings of the # 20 – 50 Fed-ranked eaters, I’d wager that at least half a dozen of them will move close to or in to the top 12 in the next year.
