Poker is more thrilling than eating. Its all about the ultimate climax being at the edge of your seat when someone goes all in on a coin flip and risks their entire stack of chips in a poker tournament or cash game Either win or lose. As Einstein once said, “No gamble no future” You get even more of a rush if you are actually involved in that same coin flip . You dont get that same rush in competitive eating with the exception of two hot finalists battling it out in the final seconds for hot dog supremacy at the Nathans finals . As a viewer if thats more exciting to you than the all in rush of a poker tournament , then you never actually experienced real thrill in your life . Try roller coaster rides in theme park much more of a rush than the Nathans finals.

Joey Chestnut would fall flat on his face if he competed in ESPN main event poker. Little of any interest to him Stonie, Sudo and the rest of them . Maybe if that same crew applied themselves in poker they could double triple or quadruple the money they make in eating. Sonya is the only exception . She is not afraid to gamble takes risks and would fit right in with some of the female poker greats of the sport

Poker is a game, not a sport.

Dont know about that. Poker fanatics consider it as much of a sport as ce fanatics consider ce a sport

Competitive eaters are competing for peanuts and in contrast to poker there is 0 opportunity for amateurs or little people to earn a dime competing. When that concept become engrained in your head you the “little person” will move on to other things unless its all about free food

Hey Brian, where’s my money? Come by the deli and drop off the cash. You’ve been late for weeks. Looks like you’ve never made money at anything. Time to stop, big boy.

If Player A bets “all in” with $6 million, what if Player B only has $5 million? Can he check with just $5 million or is he out? Also, why doesn’t Player A just bet $5 million then, since his opponent has just that amount, not $6 million.

When player A goes all in it means that he has enough to cover player B call. If A loses he still has 1 mill left .If B loses he has nothing

8:34 look up the term “side pot”

side pots and calling someone else bet are two different things. If the table is 6 handed or more meaning 6 or more players, others have committed their chips as well depending on their position and how late it is in the tournament . Those players might have folded or decided to get involved in a multi way pot . Player B has 85 % equity so he is entitled to almost all of the pot .If those same players have equal or more equity than player A they too are entitled to the full pot. If one or more of those players involved in the pot have much less equity such as 30 40 50% , then a side pot is created for those players. In multiway action you rarely see more than 4 players involved , but more players mean bigger odds to call and bigger pot

Is Seiken the one who owes money to the mob? Maybe a few goons can teach him a lesson and beat the stink out of him.
