The Norwich Bulletin has an interview with Joey Chestnut about defending his turkey title Saturday at Foxwoods Casino. He is hoping for a 2016 comeback after a "rough year" and thinks competing against women is "unfair" since their bodies are built for expansion. Joey also offered six tips to Gear Patrol in maximizing Thanksgiving food consumption.

I’m not saying FBTS is the definition of journalistic integrity or accuracy – but c’mon at least get his results from last year correct!

I’m no doctor, but I’m pretty sure carrying a baby around in your uterus over the course of 9 months doesn’t equate to stuffing dozens of hotdogs/wings/etc. into your stomach over the course of 10 minutes.

The women just showing up at a Nathans qualifier against the men eating 10 hot dogs then receive a check for a few hundred bucks , travel expenses for one a free night at a lavish midtown hotel plus a spot in their own little finals event is not fair

The baby grows in the stomach. It says so in the bible.

@5:31, A woman’s abdominal muscles are designed to stretch, and her ribs and organs are designed to slide out of place to accommodate an expanding uterus. That’s potentially a huge advantage.

11:28: Sliding ribs sounds kind of corny to me. I am not sure about abdominal muscles being designed to stretch.

What we do know is men generally have bigger stomachs and abdomens than women, so that gives them an advantage. It is also much more socially acceptable for men to eat a lot and do contests. I would assume slightly more jaw strength too and slightly better hand speed. And generally longer esophogi and larger oral cavities for chipmunking.

However, the smaller fingers that most women have would allow them to pick the meat between the bones on wing flats better, which Sonya admits.

And women have more internal organs in the abdominal cavity, which take up space, like the uterus, ovearies, and fallopian tubes.

Interesting theories, but that’s all they are. What are your sources? Studies?
